Planned Parenthood - St. Petersburg Health Center

I don not have insurance so Planned Parenthood is the place for me. Their facility is clean and comfortable. I barely waited 5 minutes after checking in to be seen. My nurse was super cool, totally professional and very down to earth, which put me at ease. I got my test results in less time than she quoted. I am SO thankful that Planned Parenthood is available for women in my community.

Best experience in my 17 years of getting annual wellness visits. Everyone was very professional and friendly. Although I did wait about an hour it flew by while I read on my kindle app. Health providers were well educated and up to date with most recent research 🧐 which I appreciated as a health care provider myself. I will definitely be back.

I had an excellent experience at Planned Parenthood St. Petersburg. I went for my women’s wellness appointment and was able to make an appointment on Saturday for Monday. Everyone was friendly, the waiting room was comfortable and clean and I felt very welcomed. I was taken back very quickly after check in, Alexandra was very thorough in addressing any and all of my concerns and nice to work with. Provider Megan was efficient and kind while conducting my exams. I will be using Planned Parenthood St. Petersburg going forward for wellness needs.

Services have gone way down hill… feels like an interrogation vs a doctors appointment… also asked for a full panel and made me feel like I was wrong for asking bc I didn’t have the symptoms … like 👍 ok cool. Then the woman didn’t even check my insurance until after my appointment and expected me to pay after I thought it was all set.I’ll just start going to AFC bc they are quick, friendly and don’t mind doing the full panel. I thought planned parenthood cared about our well being and was the place to go to be sure about your sexual health. — not anymore I guess.

Very warm welcoming from the start of when you enter the reception area. From reception, to the medical assistant, to the doctor who examined me, I had zero complaints. Minimal wait and very thorough with my medical background and exam. This honestly was one of the best experiences I have had in a long time visiting a gynecologist office. Especially when I am waiting for my health insurance to start with my new job, their prices are very reasonable for any exams or testings you may need if you happen to have to pay out of pocket. Highly recommend this facility.

One of the nursing assistants here (im not sure what her title actually was), Raven went above and beyond to make sure i had a pleasant experience with something that is usually not fun at all. She was kind, considerate and informative. I went in unsure if i would be using their services again, and left knowing id be back strictly because of her. I hope they know what theyve got with her and give her the credit she deserves.

Tanya made the IUD experience as comfortable as possible. She didnt sugar coat things and made sure to explain each step before proceeding on. Her assistance was nice as well.Thank you planned parenthood team!

Waited over 40 mins for an appointment probably would have been longer if I had stayed. Bathroom doesn’t even have a changing table what kind of health clinic isn’t accessible to babies.

Came here for a SCHEDULED Appointment to be told “I’m not being shown in their system” this was after showing the receptionist ALL the text I’ve been receiving up until my appointment. Then being told it might be a glitch in the system. Completely UNPROFESSIONAL on top of that not even trying to accommodate me for wasting my time.

I recently had an incredibly positive experience at Planned Parenthood, and I wanted to share my story to help others who might be in a similar situation. For years, I struggled with difficulty in seeking care to remove my Nexplanon implant. I constantly ran into obstacles that tended to contradict what I had been told elsewhere so it was impossible for me to remove this device.I am not trying to sway others into making this decision. Nexplanon works well for others—just not for me. The problem wasn’t the device, it was getting the device removed. Anyways, the Planned Parenthood team changed everything for me.My four-year journey to find a clinic that would remove my Nexplanon implant, covered by my insurance, was frustrating and disheartening. I cannot count how many places I went to… That all changed when I moved almost a thousand miles and discovered Planned Parenthood. Not only were they able to accommodate me quickly, but they also went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable.One of my biggest concerns was the fear of fainting during the procedure, as I had a previous unfortunate experience. Planned Parenthood understood my anxiety and allowed me to wait for my boyfriend to join me from work for emotional support. This simple act of compassion meant the world to me and alleviated much of my apprehension.The Planned Parenthood staff thoroughly explained the removal process, step by step, which helped ease my nerves. They took the time to ensure I understood what was happening and why. This level of communication and transparency was something I had rarely experienced in previous healthcare settings. During the procedure, they not only successfully distracted me but also made the incision with such skill and precision that it absolutely blew my mind.Furthermore, when it came to discussing birth control options, the doctors and staff at Planned Parenthood were incredibly understanding and respectful. I didnt feel pressured into making a choice, and for once in my life, I felt like my voice and preferences truly mattered. They provided comprehensive information, allowing me to make an informed decision that was right for me. After the procedure, the doctors even went the extra mile by directing me to a delicious bakery nearby, suggesting I reward myself. I found this gesture not only adorable but also incredibly kind, making the whole experience even more memorable.I cannot recommend Planned Parenthood enough. Their genuine care, compassion, and commitment to patient comfort are truly remarkable. They provided a safe and supportive environment during a time when I needed it the most. If youre looking for a healthcare facility that values your well-being and respects your choices, look no further than Planned Parenthood. They are a lifeline for reproductive health, and Im immensely grateful for their outstanding care.

I had accidentally gone to the st. Petersburg planned parent hood instead of the one in Tampa. Intead of me having to reschedule my appointment, they were willing to work with me. They immediately scheduled a teledoc appointment. For the same time as I was supposed to be at the Tampa clinic. I was able to get what I needed at that clinic. I am very happy I went to this clinic. They are very friendly. And I was in and out in about 30 minutes from the start of my appointment to the end of it. Will be returning to this location

I came here because I could feel a large mass in my lower abdominal area. The doctor never did an exam and told me that it was in my intestines and I was at the wrong doctor. I went to another place and it turns out I have a 15cm ovarian cyst. I paid 90 dollars for an exam that i never received from planned parenthood. They made me feel like I was stupid for even coming here. When all along it was a problem they could have treated. My treatment was set back over a month because I have had to go other places. And why did I still have to pay?

My visit was to receive menopausal hormone replacement therapy. After speaking with a lovely medical assistant who communicated via Slack or similar messaging system with the medical director, I was informed injectable testosterone wasnt an available option for cisgender women in menopause. The medical director even told the medical assistant to tell me testosterone replacement wasnt recommended by the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists (ACOG) which isnt true -- they say the patient and doctor need to evaluate the risks and benefits and prescribe accordingly -- and that no studies have shown benefits for women taking it in menopause. I asked the medical assistant what studies have been conducted showing the safety of testosterone in biological women transitioning to men. Of course, she didnt have an answer for that but did acknowledge that they need to take better care of their cisgender women and not just those transitioning. What kind of hypocritical nonsense is this? Do better Planned Parenthood.

I had a wonderful experience here. The older lady at the front desk was very kind and knowledgeable. Everyone was very nice including the woman who prescribes the medications. Another plus is that they do take medicaid here!I can safely say that this location was very professional, clean and well put. Another positive is that if you’re afraid of protestors.. there was not any. I’m from illinois and felt more care at this PP than there which says a lot considering this is florida lol. Thank you for caring for women and men in need!!

I am self pay and called several different places that couldnt get me in until the end of November. Ladies can you imagine waiting almost a month if your having irritation down south? I couldnt imagine waiting either and was desperately calling everywhere trying to get in.This lovely clinic was able to get me in same day, during a hurrican, no less.India was amazing and made feel at ease. And the best part, she put me through a grant program so it was completely free! I am blown away by the service and care I received here.Plus my issue is already getting better a day later!

I came to this location for a routine IUD removal. The receptionist that helped me, Nancy, was incredibly kind although I made her repeat herself many times due to my nervousness. My wait time was minimal in the waiting room and exam room. My nurse, Lanoy, was hilarious, comforting and very informative! I got to see two clinicians due to the location of my IUD, they were both very gentle and kept ensuring my comfort level. I will return to this location for any gynecologic needs in the future and highly recommend any PPH location!

Great medical staff, Im so happy I found them! I wasnt finding anywhere to go for my issues (not unless I was willing to wait several months!), they got me in the same day I called and gave me proper treatment. Everyone was kind, professional and I did not have to wait at all! Thank you so much!

Every single staff member here was so friendly and welcoming. They explained everything to me very genuinely and didnt make me feel stupid. It felt like I was talking to my peers and not medical staff, it really put me at ease. Im so thankful for everything yall do for the community!

PP has helped in so many ways. All the employees were all very nice and welcoming. I felt comfortable telling them anything. Eve is so sweet and understanding. Seeing her put me in a great mood. Megan was also super awesome. She gave me all the information I needed and made me laugh. All and all I had a great experience and felt 100%comfortable here. Thank you!

Im so impressed with the level of care this health center provided me today from walking to this center and walking out. The staff there are very attentive and i know they really care for me. Checking in was fast and easy with the help from Sheridan who greeted me as soon as i walk in the doors. I was taking back shortly after by another staff member named Sasha who answered all my questions and was very patient with me. The provider was kind and sweet and made sure i walked out the room with everything i needed and put me at ease letting me know they have a 24hr line i could contact with any concerns . The prices are unbeatable and Makayla made my check out process memorable she remembered my name and asked me how my visit was !!! This place is definitely recommended !!!!! thanks stp for everything !!

So i went there to get an annual exa, assuming thats what i needed considering i had never been before. Come in and get they tell me that i am not old enough to get a pap smear (didnt realize i was going there for that). The reception staff was really nice and got me what i actually needed. Got into an exam room and the nurse i had was being kind of rude. I dont know if she realized how she coming across. Ive a had a specific problem for a few weeks and asked me why i had waited so long to come in to get it checked out. Wasnt giving me clear directions on what i was suppose to be doing. It became a very stressful and overwhelming situation from there on out. The doctor who did my actual exam was really nice and talked me through the whole thing. Just wish i had a better nurse who was more understanding of someone who had never had something like this done before. Most likely wont come back to this clinic.

I moved here just last month and needed to get a prescription refill for HRT. All of the staff was extremely respectful and polite! Being transgender when going to the doctors office you generally get the weird stares and the staff doesnt understand your medical needs. That was not the case here. They made me feel very welcomed and seemed to be very knowledgeable. Nancy and the other front office girls were totally awesome and I will look forward to seeing them every 3 months!!

The staff has consistently been amazing, friendly, supportive and informative. They take the time to answer all my questions regarding my birth control planning and wellness needs as a woman. They dillengtly walked through all the solutions and worked with me to find the one that was the best for me. I am so grateful for this team.

The staff here are very nice and inviting. Although it took about three hours for me to be seen, I understood that it may have been due to me not scheduling an appointment before coming. The staff works fast and respects your time. I also like how the facility is very clean and not crowded with patients like many others.

Just came here for some testing and the people who work here are so sweet. I passed out during the blood draw for the first time in my life and everyone was so kind when i woke up and i felt really safe and knew i was being cared for. shoutout to pepper for laughing at my jokes to lighten the mood

Theyre my go to for BC. The staff is very professional, friendly and the wait times are more than acceptable. Ive never waited more than 15 minutes and Ive never felt rushed by the staff. Im usually in and out pretty quickly. I do tell my friends to go here, if they need any testing, BC or counseling. Theyre a great resource to the community, especially to that area.

Clean, friendly and knowledgeable staff, same as any great Gyn except less expensive by far. They actually saved me $ by letting me know that my IUD was still effective, so I didn’t need to replace it. Would recommend for anyone, especially self pay.

The staff here is friendly, kind, and extremely well-educated on everything Planned Parenthood offers. I have never once had a bad experience here. In fact, they have always gone above and beyond to help however they could. I highly recommend this office!

Everytime I come here I get told when I come in that my insurance is not active or that they can’t find it under my ID number when I have called before to make sure it is. They don’t review this information before you come in and is a waste of time. And $250 to just remove an implant that’s almost past due?Edit: My insurance was valid like I thought it was and made appointment through the phone, they were really good about fixing this issue. Thank you!!

I came in twice, both for depo shots. The first woman that gave the shot to me made sure that I was comfortable and thoroughly disinfected the injection site. When I came back a few months later to get my second shot, the second lady was in a hurry and fumbled around the materials. She wiped the site once, gave me the depo shot before it even dried, and rushed out of the room seconds after giving me the shot. The staff was great but that particular woman was unprofessional.

I have been a patient with Planned Parenthood since I was fifteen. Very disappointed in the level of care this location provides. I have gone to both the Tampa & Tallahassee locations and have had an amazing experience. Concern and compassion were top priority to these locations.. However at the St.Pete location; poor wait times(1hr in the lobby and 30-45 mins in exam room) and insurance malfunctions. Needless to say; someone who has BCBS PPO 20/80 should not be paying $89 for an office visit when the total amount of the visit was $149. On top of everything eles; I was told to put plain yogurt in a douche bottle to combat the high levels of bacteria in my vagina 1x a month. THIS ADVICE IS OF GRAVE CONCERN. Needless to say; I will not be back. Do your research before choosing this organization as it is not like it was. Compassion and proper advice are nonexistent at this location. Fair warning choose your provider wisely.

My situation was pretty complicated. I️ had visited a planned parenthood in California and came to this location in Florida. Although they are separate, this location worked with me. I️ was it expecting it at all because rules are rules. They were willing to help and they gave me understanding. Thank you ladies so much. I️ mean it.

I made an appointment with a local OBGYN and the next available appointment was in 5 months. I went online and made an appointment at planned parenthood for the next day. The staff is amazing. Very knowledgable, helpful, and caring. Im very thankful for PP and their services.

Employees are professional, super nice and always funny and in a good mood! I don’t have insurance so it’s convenient having a PP in town, they are a good source for various reasons and anyone who thinks they need to be defunded is a probably a republican idiot.

When you call to make an appointment it would be nice if they would tell you that they absolutely will NOT see a minor without photo ID...A wasted 45 min trip for us.She is 14 years old and has no school or state ID so I guess when a young girl like her has a problem they are just out...No care, no concern...just a front desk girl telling us sorry my hands are tied...

All I know is thank God for Sheridan S. Ive been having issues with my meds and she is helping to figure it out. I could have asked for anyone better to help me with my problem. I came here almost in tears and will be leaving knowing she will do her best to help me.

One of the front office staff was extremely rude, they are not coordinated with the information they are giving over the phone. I felt extremely uncomfortable, this is suppose to be a place where women should feel comfortable about their health.

Staff was rude and unprofessional. I went in to ask a feel questions and they made me feel like an inconvenience. I was embarrassed because the lobby was quiet and everyone heard how they spoke to me. I will never return to this location.

New location in downtown st pete I believe. The only other planned parenthood I have been to is in sarasota and I definitely prefer the st pete location. Nicer staff, lower wait times.

All I can say health care is not what it used to be!definitely this will be my last time coming here, will pay extra and go elsewhere.

Would give it no stars if I could called and asked about plan b told me I could just walk in. Failed to mention they arent open on Saturday and the hours on here are marked for open on Saturday.

Even thought my wait was very long, the staff was efficient and friendly. Compared to the Tampa location, Im very happy.

Hours are always changing and wrong on websites. They lock the doors 20 minutes before closing. They do not answer the phone, after holding for 3 cycles of the hold music, each and every time I try to call. Once Im in, the staff is lovely. But they want to go home asap.

They never answer the phone when it comes to medical records. I had to press the button to make an appointment just so I could speak to someone and the lady I talked to seemed to have an attitude when I told her I was calling about my medical record. Ive left voicemails trying to get my medical record and havent recieved a call back, I even sent them a letter in the mail 2 weeks ago regarding my medical record that I need for my recruiter....still havent heard back from them.

So thankful for these ladies, extremely caring and professional.
