The front desk girl seemed like she was annoyed to help anyone and when I approached the desk she stepped back to answer her phone that was in her pocket. The MA seemed like she hated her job as well. The exam room looked like they fixed the exam table with their eyes closed. I myself am a MA, you should be more friendly and empathetic to your patients. I get it you guys are busy constantly but go work elsewhere if you hate helping people get better, you are in the wrong field!!!The PA however was very nice and although she was busy she took her time and did thorough exam. I appreciated her!
This was an awesome visit. The staff was great. The nurse who drew blood was awesome!!! I noticed, she didnt push the needle deep into my vein causing additional pain. The doctor answered all of questions. He was very attentive and address6my concerns. I left feeling that I was in good hands. The wait was a little long, but worth the time I waited. The front desk receptionist let me know there was a couple of urgent patients and I would be seen as song as possible. Overall, an awesome visit.
My experience was terrible. I was so sick with severe bronchitis that I was sleeping on the hard chair. All people there were oblivious. After 1 hour 5 min I hobbled up to window and asked how long it would be to see someone. I was told, “over 2 hours!” Why couldn’t someone have informed of that. If you took one look at me you could see I was suffering and very ill. I left. And went to Perlman Urgent Care the next day. A totally different healing experience
Everyone is socially awkward and seem off almost robotic. I’ve been to other locations and the staff is less uptight and more comfortable to be around. Maybe it’s the area of people here they probably understand each other on some kind of level. The PA was humble … overall the service was great it’s just the environment that’s off…
A three hour wait, with no proactive communication from the staff, is not considered “urgent” to me. It was a bit mind blowing to us how long it took to just be called for triage (vitals) - 2 hours. Then we were sent back to the lobby for another 30 minutes before being put in a room. Then we waited over 30 minutes before the doctor finally came in. No staff came to check on us, no staff provided updates or reasoning for why the wait was so long. When you have (for the most part) sick patients coming to your facility for care, you need to be better. You need to show compassion for the patients, be respectful and transparent about wait times and what to expect.I do want to recognize that the PA, Bryan Johnson, was great when we could finally see you. The first thing he did was acknowledge the wait was very long. He was clear and detailed in helping us with our situation. So we’re very grateful for him!
Area was very clean. Staff was absolutely wonderful. Im from out of town and had an issue with my insurance not covering it, and the ladies behind the counter were very helpful. Wait time for Christmas Eve was very quick. If I ever have to go to Urgent Care again in San Diego, Id come back here. Thanks to everyone for the great service.
Extremely poor service. Super slow. Been waiting almost two hours now. They have messed up and taken people who have arrived after I did. Wouldnt call my insurance to verify but made me do it. Cant even really comment on the care at this point but even if they are amazing this place should go out of business. Never been to an urgent care this poorly run.
Got there around 10am and was told approx. 35 min wait... at 11:10am, I went to check in and see if Id get in soon. They said youre next. At 12:38pm, someone after me in line asked and was told that the provider was at lunch and would be back closer to 1pm. Wait what? So I had been in the waiting room for over an hour just to be told that the dr would be back at 1pm? A heads up would have been nice so we could go to lunch too.Otherwise, nurse was great and thorough. I have a urine sample when i first arrived at 10am and she recommended to do another since it had already been long and that sometimes there could be false negative. I appreciated her looking out for me.The dr. was a bit rushed. I had questions and she answered them but I felt like I had to ask quickly and I couldnt think that fast.
All the process was great. I had to wait for 2 hours because they were very busy but they told me exactly the waiting time. I was the last patient of the day and they treated me like the first. Everyone there were so nice and thats what we all need when we feel pretty bad. Great customer service and people!
The staff were pleasant and helpful. However, they were short staffed and as a result had long wait times and had to close early. The personnel at the front desk kept referring incoming patients to their other locations that had shorter wait times. In addition, I used this clinic as an alternative to going to the VA emergency room. But the staff never notified the VA I was there. So, I had to pay for my prescription out of pocket. Perhaps they could be provided with some additional training on how to handle VA patients. After all, they are an alternative VA health care site.
The front desk was super amazing and helpful and the doctor was really compassionate even though I was barely able to keep my eyes open. There was a wait but it was a lot faster process than I could have imagined and the staff was really helpful at listening to all of my issues.
Had a referral for an xray and was given specific hours to come in. Came in then and was told the guy was out to lunch so I had to wait for nearly an hour. It took so long that I ended up having to leave without getting treated. When I first arrived, the girl at the front desk sat talking with some coworker about seemingly unimportant non-medical topics for a good 5 minutes while I stood in front of her before she even acknowledged my existence. The facility was dirty and smelled horrible, which is a huge no for what should be a sterile medical facility. After this experience and reading other reviews, I’m glad I wasn’t actually treated, as issues getting results and cleanliness are obviously recurring issues.Furthermore, this referral was provided by a doctor at their other facility, which was also poorly managed and felt like I had to race to even get any questions answered before the doctor raced out of the room as fast as he physically could. I barely managed to get 5 minutes to talk with the doctor about my issue even with my vocal request to talk about it all more. Thank god my issue is not life threatening, as I would have died without being treated effectively.Avoid this facility and the entire chain of urgent cares at all costs. I’d rather get slapped with a higher bill from an ER than this horrible place.
Great service, Brian was extremely transparent and knowledgeable. Walked me thru insurance types, treatment plans, and didnt push anything like lve experienced in the past.Cost to be seen, to me was high for an urgent care at $189; However, I was paying out of pocket. I do want to stress their service. Fast and easy plus quality doctors.Once again huge shoutout to Brian who helped me, I will be back again just for him great experience.Thank you for taking the time to assist, answer my questions, and treat me like a person rather then a how much can we get out of them.TL;DR:10/10 service6/10 cost (for out of pocket)9/10 time to be seenBrian is the best.
I waited for 3 1/2 hours. When I was finally called, all they did was weigh me and take my blood pressure. So, basically, they did absolutely nothing. When I told them my symptoms, they told me to go to the Emergency Room. Would have been nice to have heard that 3 1/2 hours earlier. What a complete waste of my time!!!
The doctor and all her staff were wonderful while providing me outstanding customer service with a smile . They provided me with excellent healthcare by patiently, listening to my concerns, and treated me appropriately all while be professional and empathetic . Today I am feeling much better. I would definitely recommend their services.
Had a cast iron pan fall and bust my toe. Went to one location and they had no xray tech so I was sent to this location where I waited for 3 hours only to be told xray tech just left. They said come back tomorrow for a continuation of visit. Went back and xray was taken. Asked if they could drain it to relieve pressure. They said maybe If I wait 4 hours and pay again. Ended up YouTube how to relieve pressure and got a sewing needle and did it myself. Still havent received any info about Xray. The only thing they did efficiently was swipe my credit card
The wait was reasonable and the Dr was very knowledgeable and professional. It was a good visit. However, the visit summary was a zip file and requires a password protected. I can not open the document. Also I did not receive any paperwork concerning the visit.
Was told it would be 1.5 hour wait but was seen after 55 min. Everything was clean and functioned well. Waiting room was full of coughing and sneezy people but tis the season. I came in for antibiotics for my sinus infection and the FNP heard my concerns and prescribed antibiotics within like 45 seconds of seeing me and my symptoms. Had antibiotics in hand less than 40 minutes later. I’ll take it!
Woke up with an ear infection. Walked in with no appointment. Walked out within the hour and a half with my prescription. Staff were fast, efficient, and lovely especially being a holiday(new year’s day). Also it was easy to fill out paperwork online.
Fast, easy to make an appointment and all paperwork done online. Doctor was pleasant and I was in and out less than 45 min.
Left the office hopeful! But was left a disappointed and concerned mother. My 20 month old had thrown up 5 times in one day so i rushed her to AFC Urgent Care Clairemont and got there at 2pm. it was pretty empty yet it took until 3:40 for us to see the doctor. My daughter threw up for the 6th time in the waiting room and that’s when they decided to call us back.Once the doctor came back she listened to my daughter lungs and let me know it sounded like she was wheezing. She wanted Xrays to see what was going on to give me more information. She let me know to go right after I left there and she would get the results and call me. I asked if she was going to be able to call that day and she assured me she would absolutely be able to call me that night because they’re so fast.I got to AFC Urgent Care Mission Valley at 4:23 and was done at 4:59. I know they close at 8pm so I called at 6:23 to see if any info was available and they let me know Mission Valley location had not even sent them the xrays yet. I left them alone and Called the Mission Valley location the next day at 9AM to ask when the results would be sent to the doctor as my toddler daughter has been throwing up profusely and I have no idea why. She let me know their radiologist wasn’t in and had not sent the results then let me know to check in on Monday.I have come here plenty of times and was confident in my choice to get help with my daughter. Absolutely will not again. Now I have to rush another drip to a different facility that will help me. Didn’t prescribe anything to even help! Do not come here if you need actual and immediate help, especially not for children!
They have X-ray tech on site. They were open regular hours week of Christmas which was very helpful. Really long wait time when I was there (over 2 hours) but you can wait in your car and they will text when it’s your turn.
Best Urgent Care experience ive ever had ...Every person there was siper nice, helpful and engaging..i was so impressed I got everyones name.kira. Hong. JUju, jasque and Kayla. And my provider (PA) was BryanJohnson who was great! LOVE this place_
I woke up not feeling well. I came into the clinic i waited about 30 mins. When I got back to the room literally maybe 5 mins. NP was super thorough. 10 outta 10 highly recommended.
This is by far my favorite urgent care. They dont turn you away even if wait time is long. You can leave and come back when its your turn. I always receive great care. I feel safe going there which is important because I hate going to medical offices.
Staff was great I have cellulitis and the Dr gave me medicine to wrap my leg it is almost healedI ran out of bandages and my leg felt as this cellulitis was returning so I got antibiotics and it is clearing up
The wait time was long but the doctor more than made for it. She very intentive and my 2 year old quickly warmed up to her
Had a great experience from check-in to departure. Everyone was polite and courteous, and I got great care from Dr. LeReaux and PA Gonzalez. I was worried Id have to go to the ER or an ortho specialist to have something taken care of in my finger, and Im so thankful it was able to be solved at AFC instead.
I called ahead of time and asked the price of my visit. They said come in and provide your insurance card and we can tell you. I gave them my insurance and they said $20. I had cut my finger and asked if i needed stitches if there would be anything additional to pay and they said no. A month later I got a bill for over $100. I’m most frustrated with the lack of transparency regarding the price. I specifically withheld consent until they told me the price and had they informed me I may receive a bill in the future based on where I am at with my deductible, then I would not have consented to services. Consent is a BIG deal, and achieving it by providing false information is criminal. Also, they gave 2 stitches when i really needed 3 so the wound was open longer than it should have been and I got a keloid scar on my fingertip now as a result so it also wasn’t great care.
Went to mission valley afc urgent care due to having very bad ear pain after traveling and the medical assistant JuJu was great. She was able to clear both of my ears and NP Williams was Awesome! She was able to properly diagnose that I have a double ear infection and to make sure the pain and the ear infection is treated she gave me ear drops along with antibiotics! Would definitely recommend this urgent care!
As incompetent as they come. Broke my toe, went in for an X-Ray prior to seeing my orthopedic. In true urgent care fashion they gave me a blank disc so my orthopedic was unable to leverage the x-rays taken to give me adequate care. If you are need of any urgent care this is not the place, lack of attention to detail is baffling. Extremely unprofessional and possibly unqualified. Do not come here.Visit date 10-14
Dr. Lareaux and his staff are excellent! They are very professional and work efficiently. I did not have to wait a long time for care. Dr. Lareaux is compassionate, he listened to me and ensured that I got the care I needed.
The clinic was amazing from when I called. The receptionist was very thorough with her answers. The whole staff was amazing. I appreciate the doctor being concerned with my son’s condition.
Wait time was very long. The care was good. On-line registration for returning patients seemed unnecessary. App was not well written & required re-entry of information multiple times.
I went to get a X-ray done at this location this past Wednesday, August 14 and the experience was fairly good at the site. Afterwards, I was told that I would be contacted later about my results. I waited and called in later the day to ask about the results. They told me it takes up to 2 days to get the results. Today is Saturday, August 17 and this has been my 4th attempt calling them to get my results and nobody is providing helping. I called in yesterday too and they promised to deliver the results by the end of the day or the next day in the morning. Today, I received another generic response saying to wait until the end of the day and that they are very busy. I’m not feeling any better with the medication I received and I’m hoping that they can follow up with further actions. I understand that urgent care can get busy but if you are going to promise someone a service then deliver it.
Awesome staff, very friendly and Doctor was great. He listened actually cared about what was going on! Would 100% come back. Thank you all for the help. Im doing better already
I want to thank the doctors and assistance. They treated me so well and took care of the problem! No waiting but very experienced staff. Thank you so much, Cheryl Y
Was great fast , but the prescription medicine was out of stock at the cvs farmacy they suggested.. one day after they prescribed. Same day i went but i wasnt at the cvs system.. so im still with no medication. And Im in an emergency.
I waited several days with a sore throat because I was hesitant to come to an urgent care knowing the wait times are typically so long. I finally came to AFC and Mission Valley today and I had a great experience. Not only did they see patients in a timely manner, but they were respectful and gave me a treatment solution quickly as well. I want to thank Angela for answering questions when I came in and Ms. Thakkar for moving me along to see the provider.
Appreciate the professionalism and keeping patients aware and informed of statuses.Listening to the patients and not using them like a number was nice as well.Would definitely recommend and will visit again as needed of course.
On April 15th, 2023, I visited AFC Urgent Care in Mission Valley just before it opened at 8am. Around 7:55am I waited in front of the main entrance along with 3 other patients. The front waiting room lights were still off and there was no sign noticeable or anyone present inside… At 8:03 am I called their Point Loma location letting them know their Mission Valley location was not open yet. They explained they “did not know why.”So I called this location’s business phone number to see if there was an automated message notifying patients of this office being closed today… THERE WAS NO MESSAGE STATING THEY WERE CLOSED on April 15th, 2023.I was the only individual of those 4 of us waiting outside, who finally noticed this little white sign among signs on their front door… WHY NOT PRINT IT ON YELLOW OR RED PAPER SO IT STANDS OUT??!!“Closed due to Staff Provider Shortage.”AFC Is NOT ALWAYS OPEN 7 DAYS A WEEK! …. ***YOU LOST A LOT OF BUSINESS THAT DAY AFC!!***FYI, Your other Nearby Locations like the Clairemont Mesa location, when I tried calling them to check first if they were open, NOBODY ANSWERED THE PHONE when wanting to speak to an employee. Your other locations were not an option for me!
Literally the worst urgent care ever! They sped through the last people that were in the waiting room and sent everyone home without even really helping them because it was almost closing time. People complain as they walked out because the doctor would see them for one whole minute. When I met with the doctor, he saw me for two seconds, diagnosed me all with his hands in his pocket. He just threw his hands up and said hey there’s nothing I can do. Here’s some medication and go home. I felt like when they said it was going to be a three hour wait they were trying to deter me from even staying. This is the second time that I’ve came here and both times have been the worst care ever!
Told two hours, well over three. They were nice, just way off beam on time. Wouldve bern faster at ER.
Went to this Urgent care a handful of times while we lived in the area. Its still relatively new, very clean, and never busy. Always got my family in very quickly. They have an xray machine in office. Plenty of parking. Would recommend to anyone.
Ive been here 4 times for separate issues over the last couple of years. Ive always been in and out within 2 hours. Way better than the ER. The doctors are always personable, even when they are really busy. Last night I went in and they were busy, told me its an hour wait. Got to a room under that and was out about an half hour later. They were short staffed but Alex and Angela at the front were amazing, kind and helpful. The doctor was great as well. I cant imagine being that busy and graceful at the same time! Thank you guys.
It took me 3 hours from start to finish but I was able to get an answer to what I was feeling and the staff and the PA were all very informative about wait time.
Showed up on a Saturday at 5:15 and was told they arent accepting patients, they referred met mother afc and they said all afcs arent excepting patients after 5:30. We got there at 5:15 and was turned away.
Went to the hospital a few days prior and they weren’t able to help me. Came here the other day and doctor was super nice and I didn’t really have to wait much after doing the online check in. I’m already feeling so much better thanks to them! Will definitely be coming back.
It was a quick seamless wait. The medical assistant who took my vitals was very kind and listened with intent. My provider was quick and knowledgeable, too. Although it was a probably a long day she still gave me what I needed for my ailment.
The whole staff was amazing and very helpful and caring. They were very accurate when I asked about the wait times and timing and they were very respectful of all patients that I witnessed in the waiting room. The provider was wonderful and Im regretful that I forgot her name, but she helped me on Sunday, may 19th and was working between the hours of 2pm-5pm, blonde hair! She was great and made me feel very comfortable and heard. I appreciate all the staff there!!
I’ve been here twice in the past month for an ear infection and had a great experience. It’s really convenient to be able to check in and leave until you’re up next (they send you a text). The staff is very kind and professional. I received great care from Alex who expertly irrigated my ear and made me feel very at ease. NP Christina who saw me was thorough and efficient and I felt like I was in great hands the whole appointment. The reception team is great too. If you’re going to urgent care it’s because you’re not feeling your best so this is really the best experience you can have under the circumstances. Very appreciative of AFC!
Been here multiple times for ingrown toenail removals with no issues. When I visited 27aug24, this is what happened. Im no professional or know much but I took notes of these things.. Doctor had me place wet foot with iodine on the wax paper on the bed, which it soaked. Did not wear face mask and was coughing but not facing me during op. Doctor put needle into lidocaine jar and into my toe 6-8x back and forth until I was numbed. Doc used little scissors to pry nail away from skin initially. Doc did not apply a antibiotic to toe before wrapping. Doc gauzed and used almost entire roll of wrapping bandage, making my toe huge. Doc denied me hard shoe/boot, so I had to stuff my extremely wrapped toe into my shoes.Update: The first few days I was in such excruciating pain, this has never happened to me before after getting my nail removed. Shooting pains up my foot, never have I cried after any removals. Also have never had such brusing under the toe, making it difficult to walk. The skin on my toe looks damaged.
So on Tuesday I was going to give this place - star review but I called Wednesday morning and spoke to Kaila and let her know the horrible experience we had Tuesday night with the NP I didn’t get her name but she was the worst ever so I called Wednesday morning to make a complaint and Kaila made it 100% smooth and the lead of the nurse practitioners reassured me and said she would help my son my son went in Wednesday after work and Christina the lead NP helped him and he was amazed at how easy the process was and was shock the “NP” that was there Tuesday 7/23/24 night couldn’t help him I wish I knew her name!! couldn’t do her job right so thank you Kaila and Christina W . For helping my son!!!
This is place was absolutely horrible, I went in with my Wife as Walk-Ins just for it to take up most of our day. When we did finally have our check up they informed me saying we’d get our results back in a couple days, it’s been a week and I had to call them for my results just for them to tell me that they lost my results.
The wait time was extremely long. We waited over 3 hours to be taken to a room, then another 30 minutes to be seen by a doctor.
2 hour + wait for a rapid covid test. Maybe don’t come here if you want a “rapid” test at this time? (12/22/21) The front desk person told me an hour wait but that turned into 75 minutes and now I’m in a private clinic room for another 30. Please someone tell me it’s almost over. Of course the staff is reasonably stiff - they see so many people all day, and we’re all sick and in kinda a bad mood.Good news: the doctor who saw me prescribed antibiotics I didn’t know I needed and I think have made a huge difference in my cough and horrible cold. So it took forever but then honestly Im so grateful. I got home that night and the news was blasting that 2-4 hour waits for covid tests are happening all over the country and San Diego in particular.Setting better expectations would have been very helpful.
Filled out all my paperwork online. Given a time slot. AFC repeatedly sent reminders and asked for confirmation of my appointment, but it wasnt an appointment at all. Waited over an hour before being seen.
If you can look past the three hour wait time, even after scheduling an appointment and pre filling out all paperwork, the staff was very friendly and I felt like I was heard.
They give the option to make an appointment online, so I made one, waited until that time and came in. It made no difference, had to wait as a walk in anyway. Got there at 11, waited an hour, all the patients before us had left, and then the doctor left for lunch before we were seen, so we waited another hour for them to get back. Would have been seen well before lunch if they didnt pretend to have appointments and then not honor them.
The doctor and staff were amazing, made me feel so taken care of! Definitely would recommend
In general my experience with AFC urgent Care is good however some of the medical assistants need more training on giving injections.
Staff was curtious and efficient. Felt very comfortable while waiting and while being seen.
From start to finish the service is top notch. From checking in with greeting staff to medical assistants to doctors & examiners. My Dr was very though with follow up from previous visit and examination was thoroughly done with care. I would recommend this location to everyone.
Very kind staff! As far as wait times go, it was average. I was a walk in during cold and flu season and it took them under two hours to see me. They do have a booking service online, I just didn’t think that far ahead.Very reasonable price if you don’t have insurance $179. My husband and I are self employed so we do not have insurance. Dr. Stacy even took some time to talk with me about affordable options for my prescription and I cannot express how much that was appreciated.Otherwise the fact was very clean, and again, very friendly staff ❤️
“After a brief wait, the staff was very courteous and professional. I hope the prescribed medication brings relief.”
Everyone was so friendly, especially the x-ray technician Lalo! I felt really comfortable with the level of care I was getting and the great conversations I was having with the staff while I waited. I also really liked that they text you when they are ready to see you. It was pretty packed that day and it was nice to wait in my car rather than in a waiting room. All in all, a great experience!
You have the friendliest, most efficient, cutest staff from receptionist to doctors and I got great service and I’m coming back.
Super professional, very accommodating, they listen, they are very understanding from the reception to the doctor. Everyone is super nice.Thank you 🙏💖
I appreciated the open communication and the care provided. The staff informed me of the expected wait time. The nurse physician who attended me answered all my questions and provided me with information to help me make an informed decision about my care.
Fabulous staff & doctor eager to make patients feel better. They are polite, friendly and very accurate to define the clients needs. This is one of the best Urgent Care Centers in the county. The environment is clean and peaceful.I am a fan forever!!
Alex and Vanessa were really nice and efficient in their work. Alex was good to make me feel comfortable. Vanessa even though it was her first time in the clinic, she was able to do a great work and made me feel calm through the clean up after the procedure.I couldnt remember the doctor who helped me but she did a great job stitching up my hand efficiently and quickly.
Smooth and fast urgent care location with a great staff plus I feel better. Need I say more. Thanks AFC mission valley
Nice place but I came in. They said 45 minutes, then ended up taking three hours and they don’t let you know a realistic timeframe to be seen so be cautious and ask many questions.
Very efficient and simple to be seen and get the medical assistance and attention I needed. The clinical staff, Alex and Angela did an excellent job making me feel at ease despite my condition, and Mackenzie Williams, my provider had me back out in time for dinner. Thanks Alex, for the positive feedback and the encouraging words you provided. I recommend others go to this clinic if they wish to be seen for their condition and receive the medical attention needed.
The staff especially the front desk and the doctor were so kind to my young daughter who was in pain. You could tell they genuinely cared and went out of their way to help instead of treating us like an annoyance (and we were one of the last patients of the day)!
My provider PA Jennings was amazing, very thorough and definitely made me feel heard and understood.Kayla in the front office was one of the nicest people you could meet. Her phone call answering was pleasant and she was very helpful and nice. Alex took a second to warm up but was friendly by the of end of our intake. The xray tech Gerardo was talkative and nice as well. So why 4/5... wait time. I was still there over 2 hours and most of the day was a 2 hour wait. Completely out of the workers control but if I was looking for an urgent care, Id want to know Ill be there for 2 hours or more. You have to check in in person and they will text you when you are next, so you could technically go home or shopping while you wait, which is nice. But cant call to make an appt or get in line without physically being there- bummer.
Staff is great and helpful. Alex and Andy who wrapped my foot up were super nice, Sarah at the desk makes everything clear and quick.Doc Williams is so great, I wish she was my primary care.. everyone here is awesome!
Might as well have gone to the emergency room. My wait was 4 hours long with a waiting room of maybe 5 people. I got there at 4pm and didn’t leave until after 8. Never going here again.
Had a great experience here. The front desk was kind and helpful. I didn’t have an appointment and I was in and out in 2 hours.
The care is excellent and Brian and Elizabeth are great and knowledgeable PAs in my time of need.
Update: I had a common but life threatening illness and this clinic gaslighted me about my test results which prevented me from getting emergency care when I needed it. I almost died because of their misinformation and neglicence from a very treatable and common illness. I was told Id get a call with all my lab results in 24 hours and 48 hours for the x-ray. I called back after 24 hours and was told no tests come back that quickly, and no doctor wouldve told me that. I called back at 48 hours and was just put on a long hold and then told the person who knows about that is too busy to help right now, call back tomorrow. After 72 hours I almost died from my condition and had to be hospitalized. Its the end of the week now, 4 business days later, and I still have no results, despite that the life threatening nature of my illness was visible to the people who were doing the x-ray in real time.Ive been coming here because of convenience for over 2 years but now Ill go through any amount of inconvenience to go somewhere safe.Original review:Ive been coming here for years but this time the provider did not take my concerns seriously and I couldnt get appropriate medical care despite the long wait time.
Staff was great, doctor listened and then quickly confirmed what I had. Appreciate the girl at the front desk. She seemed like she may have been under the weather but she was still nice and professional. Prescription card dropped my meds from $100 to $17.
Staff were friendly. Wait time was reasonable and was pretty close to the staff’s estimate. but I especially enjoyed talking to Natasha, who was very helpful and clearly working hard to make sure I was getting the best care. She answered all my questions during my visit. She is approachable and caring. Overall I’d come back.
Quality, but short, consult. The prescriptions seem be helping. I suppose the short consult was due to the overflow of sick people.
The front office girl Sarah was so friendly and very helpful. There registration link kept kicking me out and she without any hesitation got up from doing whatever she was doing and helped me on their iPad. She was the only one working the front that this urgent care was handling herself very well with everything she had to do. Thanks to her she I had a great experience.
Dr Christina was so knowledgeable and knew exactly how to treat my difficult breathing issue. Angela at the front desk sprung into action when she heard my breathing and helped me immediately. Nurse Alex is so down to earth and a very experienced phlebotomist, I have invisible Vains and he was able to draw my blood immediately. I will be coming back here if I ever need to. And Natasha during triage knew exactly what questions to ask.
Easily made an appointment online on a Saturday night. Only one other person in the waiting room, friendly office, and the Dr. helped ease my worries. Big thank you to Alex for making my allergy shot as painless as possible!
This is the second time at this AFC with my daughter- and I had to write this review after such a positive experience! Yes we had to wait a little although in the morning but Team is so nice and the PA is so amazing with kids, taking the time to answer all our questions and very compassionate r - she was great while doing the strep test herself twice I really felt like she cared. Thank you!
Alex and Jules were in and out after doing their thing, they were great and funny.4 stars is because of the almost two hour wait, after saving my spot online for 1040 and not being called back until approx. noon. Front desk girl was ok, but could be friendlier…not one smile but whatever. NP we seen was also awesome, very helpful and also friendly. Thanks for providing me with the meds. needed. Cheers!!!!
Came here after almost slicing my finger off. I couldnt wait for the ER so I just went here because its the first one I saw while driving with one hand on the steering wheel and the other outside the car window raised above the roof. I got here and let them know (and showed them) what was going on with my finger. They promptly cleaned and dressed the wound after a short wait in the lobby. I guess I got lucky that day. There was this young lady that helped me out. She was nice and friendly. I think her name was Natalie or Natasha or something. It was a really long name. But she gave me a good impression. If I chop another finger off, I know who Ill be going to. Thank you AFC!
All the staff here are extremely friendly. I’ve been here a couple times and I’ve never had to wait too long. They are pretty quick and very welcoming. Especially Alex who was the one helping me out running some tests on me. He was extremely nice and welcoming. Just amazing staff all around.
This team was great. I was in and out within less than one hour. The PA was very smart and helpful and she was very cool. The technician was also very nice. I was surprised at how fast I was able to get in to see someone on a Sunday afternoon. Thank you for making my visit as painless as possible. I sincerely appreciate it.
Edit update to last review: Dr. Eshraghi was not nearly as friendly or understanding as Dr. Trujillo. I did not feel my concerns were listened to compared to the great experience I had two days previously. Rest of the office staff was very friendly, helpful and efficient as they were last time.
I am grateful for your caring services. Feeling much better already. Alex was great during my intake and kept me informed. Nurse Practitioner Vicki Love is appropriately named. She proved skillful care in a professional and compassionate manner.
Staff were friendly. Wait time was reasonable for a weekend walk-in (about an hour) and was pretty close to the staff’s estimate. You can wait in your car or come back when they text you. Paperwork can all be done on your phone. They seem a little understaffed in the back with actual medical team, but the PA who saw me was very helpful and clearly working hard to see everyone. Overall I’d come back as needed, was in and out in about 2 hours total (including wait time).
Great group of people who take the time with the patients. Class group, Id go back in a minute next time I need help.
Everything about my visit was exceptional care. They were so friendly checking me in and saw me right away. It was the quickest Ive ever been seen at any doctors visit. The PA I saw was also amazing she took the time to answer all my questions was very informative and I really felt like she cared. Thanks!
The front office ladies and medical assistant were so kind, helpful and made this visit positive from beginning! Then, I was seen by NP Erika Trujillo....where do I start!First, listened to me had a plan and gave great advice, explained why for all the meds prescribed. I now know, I will be on the road to getting better. After sitting at home with my own GP not helping me. I wish Erika could be my GP.Outstanding Care!!! I havent been to Urgent Care in over 20 years....I got better care here than my primary care doctor. Thank you so much! Oh, and last Im less than a half a mile from this office. I can go on and on how happy I am with this office service from beginning to end!!!
Fast and efficient made my reservation online and filled all paperwork online and got my son in and out within 1-2hrs. Thank you so much !
This clinic was so very helpful. The gal at the front desk were very knowledgeable and kind. I believe she was named Sarah. She made me feel very comfortable and cared for. Thank you so much for your stellar service.
Ive been to many accounts but this one is the best! Even if they are busy they are still efficient.
Friendly and professional staff. Alex in particular was the best....very professional and patient took his time and was extremely helpful. .
Was checked in by a woman named Sarah, she was extremely helpful, very sweet and helped me feel better and not as scared with my daughter being sick. She went out of her way to make me feel comfortable and helped. The check in was super easy thanks to her. If I have to go to an urgent care I will absolutely come here. Staff was attentive and showed a level of caring that not many show to strangers.
I love how they page you so you don’t have to wait in urgent care. They provide a 10-15 minute heads up when time to return. Co-pay $36 military and short wait compared to Balboa. Alex and team was great.
If it werent for Alex & his disposition + them texting me when to come back in, this would be a 1-2 star. I waited 2.5 hrs Just to get in the room! Then another 30 mins for anyone to come in. (Thankfully i asked where in line i was - bc someone else asked & left, and told them i needed to lay down in my car, to where they text me when to come back. **For anyone coming here i HIGHLY recommend you ask what # you are in the line-up**)I heard no commotion and barely anyone was in and out (Maybe they too were waiting in their car??) It Really gets my blood boiling when the word URGENT isnt treated as one. It makes me wonder if going to the ER is a better idea.....
Elizabeth had a 2nd infection on her lower leg. A.F.C. staff was friendly, helpful and N.P. Vicki Love nailed it! Cellulitis! She prescribed high dose antibiotics, and hot compress on the spot!(No ointments on the spot). The 1st time she contacted it the urgent care facility she went to didnt know what it was and prescribed antibiotic ointment on the spot and cold compresses. All wrong. Research your facility. We live 15 miles away but from now on this will always be our first choice! Special thanks to N.P. Vicki Love!💞
I will say that when I took my daughter in Sunday the care was good. I took my three kids today and they had me waiting for over an hour after they called me into the room for my kids to be seen. I checked in at 230pm.
Went there with level 10 pain for kidney and they said they were closing early for a reason that is unknown. I got there at 3pm and they dont close till 8pm. I was in so much pain and they said we cant take any more patients. The manager didnt even do anything when I told her my pain level. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
They are very organized and great in taking care of the patients.I have taken my Mom there couple of times and went there for myself today. They were good at all the times. Thanks to their staff and doctors.
This is my go to for anything urgent... Came in today due to chest pains and was seen fairly quickly... NP Brandi Gallagher (hope i spelled it right) and EKG tech Alex made me feel so comfortable and at ease. i love how they both made me feel as if i was part of the family. thank you for everything you do.
Very professional and straight to the point. Minimal wait time especially on a Sunday. I think I was there a little over an hour. It was very considerate of them to call in my medication to a pharmacy of my choosing. My medication was ready when I got there. Very efficient. Thank you 😊
Front desk and medical staff were very kind and helpful and we didnt have to wait too long. No one wants to go to the doctor while on vacation but they were great, antibiotics for everyone.
I came in feeling terrible but AFC got my back, fast service, front desk so helpful and they made me feel welcomed. Alex and Christina were beyond awesome. I recommend anyone and everyone to the clinic the best in San Diego. I know I have a bit of a road to go in my recovery but AFC thank you
AFC staff were amazing. Very efficient. I went there for an upper respiratory infection, the doctor was very professional. Checked my symptoms and gave me a prescription. Definitely will continue to use AFC.
1st time visit. Was checked in promptly, moved through the process smoothly. Natasha was great in administrating my shot, the X-ray tech friendly & my doctor very informative
Everyone here was wonderful. I was having a horrible day, had been to several other places, and no one would see me for my eye infection because I was just getting over COVID. BUT... Everyone at this location was amazing, from the reception to the Dr... they even humanely trapped a spider and let him go outside while I was there 🕷🙃 I would definitely recommend!
All of the staff are super friendly and helpful. Today I was flu/strep tested and treated by Alex; he was very quick and kind. Overall great experience at this clinic :)
I called around 7:30 tonight to see if AFC was still taking walk-ins. Immediately, I was told no. Understandable. However, I asked if she knew of any place that might be taking walk-ins in San Diego. Immediately and carelessly, she claimed to not know. I asked if she had any suggestions for what I should do (as I was in need of professional medical assistance), and she hung up on me. As a medical professional, we rely on you to HELP. Instead, I was shut down and felt like I was wasting her time. Called back to get a name about five minutes later. Said her name was Angela. Not sure if it was the same person on the phone, but I have never experienced such carelessness in healthcare. Do better. Be empathetic, please.
Came in at 8:45AM to put my name down and had to wait about an hour and a half for care which wasnt as quick as Id hoped but better than emergency care at a hospital. However, the staff were caring, competent, and helpful. The health assistant had great bedside manner, was respectful, and lifted my spirits. The acting doctor when I was seen gave me a very realistic diagnosis in terms that made sense to me and answered nearly all the questions I could have had before I asked.Despite the wait, it was overall a positive experience compared to the health care Ive received in the past.
Came here on a Sunday (so great that they’re open on weekends!) due to being sick for a while and getting worse. I didn’t have to wait long to be seen. Everyone was nice, friendly, and helpful. I was also listened to, and all of my issues were addressed. I was given solutions, advice, treatment, and didnt feel like seeking help for my condition was a waste of time. I felt taken care of, and this will definitely be my go to place from now on. :) Thank you to all who helped me there!
Very pleasant greeting. Health care professionals were also pleasant and thorough in determining my health situation.
I do appreciate this facility. My doctor is incredibly difficult to get a hold of in a health last-minute issue. The staff and the doctor are great, they are there to help, and the facility looks professionally good for being in a mall. Id recommend this place if in need.Walking ins 4-5 Hour wait time dreadfully long if you are in pain or feeling miserable.Maybe the wait decreases with appointments. The website has issues with laptops using and seems to work better with phone use.So use your phone and not a computer to fill out the needed information to get an appointment, or youll be walking with a wait time.Thank you for the service to the AFCUC team and stay healthy san diego.
The staff was kind and prompt, I love the text message system for updating you on your turn to see the doctor, which is great so I dont have to stay in the lobby. The doctor was thorough and gentle.
They are amazing here! From checking in to checking out the experience was easy. The medical receptionist Trey was super welcoming and made checking in to be seen for a scratch on my eye super easy and their provider PA Amanda she was so sweet and kind during my exam to see the damage my son caused and prescribed medication for my eye. Did I mention how quickly they got me in and out of the clinic? 10/10 recommend for any urgent care needs for you and your family. You are taken care of here !!
Wait time was a little long. Although they let you leave to do whatever while you wait for a text to come in when theyre ready for you. However after the initial wait I was waiting for another 45 min. Chalk it up to being understaffed. The doctor gal was very professional. Excellent understanding of the issue and did exactly what they are supposed to. Get you patched up good long enough to get in to see a primary physician. They definitely need help for that doctor. She must really work hard there
They wasted our time here. The website says they can do blood draws. However, the doctor we saw today said they don’t do that. Then she said it’s best we go with our PCP. What’s the point of coming then? The only good thing about this place is you can sign in and leave and you’ll be called or texted to come back at a later time. It keeps you from waiting there for a long time.
It’s an urgent care, that I always have a positive experience whenever I need to get seen. Obviously, it’s not a drs office or hospital, so as long as you are aware that services are limited. You can be seen by NP and go from there. I have unconventional work hours and it’s difficult to schedule with my pcp clinic. This location is in very close proximity to me and quite accessible. I will definitely come back again. Also will definitely recommend to others. Every healthcare facility is having an overflow of patients and is under staffed to handle the amount of patient needs coming in. Just remember to be kind and have patience. We are soo fortunate to even have healthcare. Stay grateful wherever you find yourself and remember to be kind. “ in a world where you can be anything, be kind.”
All of these people here made me feel like I was home and very professional.
I went in to be seen on a Friday after work. It was my first time there. From the staff at reception area to the doctor himself, everyone was so enthusiastic and professional. I was offered water and frequently checked on to see if I was still doing alright while waiting to be seen.On Monday, following that Friday I went to the urgent care, AFC staff called to follow up on me. Her name was Sarah. Sarah inquired how I was feeling over the course of 2-3 days and if my symptoms were any better.I was really surprised to get a call like that from an urgent care office. It was a pleasant experience overall with AFC Urgent Care.None of the staff treated me like I was just a number that came through their door. They took care of me. The doctor really listened to me explain what my symptoms were and how I was feeling, and he advised me of what would be done with respect, patience and enthusiasm. I don’t know about anyone else but for me those gestures meant a lot.I highly recommend AFC Urgent Care Mission Valley.
Pros: Quick waiting times (I was seen within 20 mins all 3 times I had to go) and kind serviceCons: Staffing shortages, misread my x-rays and misdiagnosed my injury, causing me to lose 3 days where I could have been taking more proactive and immediate measuresI went in Saturday with a foot injury. The receptionist told me their x-ray tech was not in, so I would have to go to Point Loma if I wanted x-rays. There was only 1 person ahead of me, so I decided to get the doctors opinion. She agreed it looked like a fracture was highly likely and told me to go to Point Loma.I had to wait 3 hours to go because their tech was late coming in. But he immediately sent over the images and said I should hear back that day or the next. It was 2:30 and they were open until 9, so was really hoping Id hear back - because it was an urgent care - but didnt. I waited until the end of the day Sunday - still nothing. I called and got an automated response that MV location was closed due to staffing shortages. So, I called Monday am (48 hours after my appt) to try and get my x-ray results. The receptionist said it was negative for fractures, but didnt offer to let me speak to a physician and when I asked if I should expect a follow up from the doctor (like I had been told there would be) she said nope.I assumed it was just a sprain, but then the PA called me Tuesday afternoon (72 hours after the x-rays were taken) to apologize for the late follow-up and for how the miscommunication was handled. She offered to take a second look at the x-rays just in case - and then called back about 20 minutes later to dispute their original claim and say that actually, there WAS a fracture, and that I should have been in crutches and a shoe/boot. I had to quickly make a podiatrist appointment, and go BACK to MV to get my shoe, crutches and x-ray notes.I understand that these things happen, but I am frustrated about the miss and belated information. I would have made a podiatry appt 2 days ago if I knew it was fractured and I am hoping I did enough at home to keep it from getting worse.I am giving 2 stars because I had positive experiences with the actual providers, but would definitely be nervous to have testing done here again.
Didn’t pick up phone. Ubered to the location to find out they weren’t excepting any more patients. Thanks for nothing.
Roll over and die before coming here. I called in advance to see what the wait time was and if I can put my name down and go home since I live across the street. They told me 2 hours and that that is fine they can call me when I’m ready. There’s not that many Patients in there but I understand some can take longer than others. I have a fever, asthma issues and possibly strep throat and can barely stand let alone sit in a the hot waiting room. I get a call about an hour later telling me to rush over and that they are ready for me and get there about 3 min after the call. I wait for almost and hour an half in the waiting room before getting up and asking them why they bothered to call me if I have to sit here for another hour and a half. They tell me they have no idea how much longer and that I’m still the next in line. I wait outside and end up just doing a Teledoc appoint ment and leave. They call me 3 1/2 hours from when I first signed up saying that they’re ready for me. This is a joke.
Yeah so i tore my shoulder playing baseball came here to make sure it was actually torn and they stopped seeing patients at 7:30 i was here at 7:31
Everyone was nice to me. This place was clean and the staff was very professional.
Pros: Friendly and professional staff, very clean facility. The nurses are fantastic, and answered all my questions. A few people in the waiting room were coughing, and they offer a service where they call you when your appointment is ready. Overall fantastic front-of-house service.Cons: I’ve been to this site many times before for back spasms. They’ve always been helpful and answered all my questions. But this time, I met with a provider who was rather rude. He wanted to give me an injectable NSAID I’d never had before. I had a few questions, and he cut me off by saying, “Look, if it’s going to be a discussion like this, then I’m not going to give it to you.” I was just asking about side effects and drug interactions. Then I was prescribed a dosage of medication far below what I had told the provider has helped me in the past (which should be in their medical record).I’ve never had this type of problem in the past with their providers, but this one left a very bad impression.
I went to the Mission Valley location. It was a pleasant experience. The place was clean, the staff was pleasant and efficient. Nurse Practitioner Trujillo, seemed very knowledgeable and thorough. The location is easy to find and has plenty of parking.
Brought my daughter in for a broken finger. The staff were very nice and gentle with her. Really happy we decided to go there. Cant say anything bad. Perfect visit. Thank you to everyone there.
Staff was extremely friendly, knowledgable and made me feel very comfortable. Liz answered the phone before I arrived and was ideally why I decided to come in. The nurse practitioner who saw me was great and didnt make me feel rushed or that my surplus of questions were silly -- would definitely recommend. I rarely write reviews, but believe when people provide a positive experience, others should know.
Doctors and nurses are nice , but very understaffed and the wait are too long :)
Alex was great, very personable, and great at his job. The last TB test I got somewhere else hurt really bad. When I did the TB test with Alex it didn’t hurt at all
AFC Urgent Care has a very nice and friendly staff. The wait time was not that long. I would recommend friends and family and on a scale of 0 to 10 I give a 10! The provider was very knowledgeable!
Very friendly and efficient. Experience with MacKenzie was superb. She is very knowledgeable but explains everything so well. Alex also helped with follow-up and was extremely friendly and professional.
Unexpectedly efficient. A very positive experience from intake to care.
Awesome experience. Everyone was super kind and helpful!
The staff was so friendly and professional! They really went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and make sure I was taken care of in a timely manner. I will ALWAYS go to this Urgent Care! Thank you Trey, Diana, Julio, and Amanda for making getting medical care an enjoyable experience!
I had the need to visit the AFC in Mission Valley last week. When I called The woman that answered the line identified her self as Liz. She was cheerful and warm and gave me an instant feeling of comfort. When I went to AFC she took great care in getting me registered. As I waited I was amazed at her ability to answer phone call after phone call, several at one time, and also take care of a room FULL of patients. She never skipped a beat being cheerful and friendly with each and every person she interacted with. She is amazing and AFC is very fortunate to have her!
Hit and miss for walk-ins and wait times. Anticipate at least an hour or more. Great staff and good care. Both visits we had an excellent experience with Alex.
This urgent care facility is the best I have been to. The staff is patient, kind, and attentive. It is clear to me that they are passionate about helping people, and do their job effectively and efficiently. I had my blood drawn by Sierra and she was very careful and kind when she did so. 100% recommend.
Come in with an ear infection a week ago. Get seen and get a prescription without a problem. Call back this morning because my condition hasnt improved. I ask to talk to a provider about it. Im told the provider is in the room and Im told it wont be the same provider anyway and theyll want to do their own work up. I say okay and then the woman just hangs up the phone. If you might need follow up care this place doesnt seem to care.I should add the original visit was great. They got me in quickly and prescribed me medication quickly. Who hangs up on people though?EDIT: I got a call from the quality manager. I called back and waited on hold for about 30 minutes and had to hang up. Called back later and got to speak with her. She basically told me they would work on it. My honest opinion is they care about their patients but might have more work than they have staff. She was nice and seemed to care. Take it for what it is I guess.
I found myself needing an Urgent Care appt. today for the first time in years, and landed upon AFC after going down the list through my insurance network. I had a very sour experience this morning at both Marque and Concentra, so you cant blame me when my hopes werent sky high for AFC, but I left so pleasantly surprised and just grateful that they were available. Alexis checked me in and she was super sweet and patient, both on the phone and in person. My PA, Amanda was down to earth and actually listened to me; I could tell she was genuinely empathizing with my situation. The X-Ray tech (I forget his name!) was also great. Everything was quick and to the point. I was in and out in about 2 hours. For a walk-in in Mission Valley during the height of a pandemic, Id say thats about the best one can hope for!
A very ugly place it took me 3 hours the employees taking the not paying attention to the the patients. Never come back again. The looks they had a party in the des
Very disappointing. My son hurt his hand and needed an x-ray to rule out a break. We went around 9:30am and was told no X-ray can be taken until after 12. Ok. So we went back and the waiting room was full. Told it would be about an hour. Not great, but ok. After an hour, I approached the counter to inquire about my sons place in line. There were still 3 folks ahead of us and was told it would be at least another hour. The receptionist was then snippy, which I didn’t appreciate. I called another urgent care to check wait times, and went back inside to let them know we wouldn’t be staying. When I asked for my paperwork, same receptionist was snippy again. I was not angry or snappy to the staff, and I don’t appreciate getting an attitude. Had hoped that we could utilize this office as it’s right by our home, but if that is how they treat patients, I guess we will drive to a more professional and courteous facility.
Went in at 430 pm, and still waiting to see the doctor, its now 745 pm
Great!!! Yes great experience all employees very attentive and wonderful staff .Miss. Erika Trujillo EXCELLENT DR. and the gentleman assisting me with the X-ray process and reception personal as well very lovely staff! It was a great visit and glad Miss. Trujillo found out what was wrong with my ankle thanks again guys!
Stopped by this location as a walk in, only waited about 15 to 20 min to be seen. Was seen by Dr. Lara Marquez. She was so so awesome! She was extremely nice and thorough. She took her time and explained things to me in a way that i could understand. I so wish that she was my primary care provider, she was that good. Also, i got a call with lab results in record time. They were also extremely courteous and helpful in their explination of things. I would highly recommend this location and D.Lara Marquez as a provider.
I CANNOT thank this urgent care center enough!!! NP Tran helped me in a time of need when I felt so hopeless and was in such an insane amount of pain. After visiting with her, and even though the procedure performed was pretty intense, I feel 10000% better after seeing her! Everyone in the office to the tech taking my vitals was so helpful and kind! One of the techs even stayed with me during this very painful procedure. The compassion this team had for me was so above and beyond, I can’t thank them enough and would highly recommend them!
Top notch personnel! Very caring & great staff.
If youre looking for a doctor to see you shortly after you arrive, and will get you out the door within the hour, then this is the place. Went in for a lancing, was out and bandaged up so quickly. Great bedside manners. Knowledgeable staff. Fast and efficient. They (currently) accept Medi-Cal Blue Shield. Idk what others.
They denied me care because my roommate assaulted me. Had valid insurance compatible with the company, had my ID, and they denied me because Im an assault victim. I was told the owner doesnt give medical care to victims, that its a personal policy. If I didnt have a ride, I would have wasted 4+ hours on public transit to get here and then to another hospital/urgent care. I have been to the Santee location and was a previous patient and now wish I supported a different company. Sharp is trash, but its better than this, at least they dont deny aid to assault victims. If I could rate this company -5, I would.
10 plus Dr and staff very awesome!!! Thank you!!!! Always there for my family.
Wife fell and injured her ankle. We were looking for an urgent care center between the airport and where we were staying. This one was in a convenient location. When we got there, one other patient was waiting in the waiting room. He went in before we could finish our paperwork. The lavatory in the waiting room was pristine. My wife was in for less than an hour. They made follow-up calls to her regularly for the next week to make sure she was still doing well. The service here was amazing. You couldnt ask for a cleaner place. The plaza its in is equally nice.Cant recommend this place enough.
By far the WORST Urgent Care I have ever been to. DO NOT COME HERE. You WILL get COVID. I went in to get a rapid covid test, and I was told the wait would be an hour and a half. I was waiting for more than three hours. It would be okay if they would call you when your appointment is ready, except they dont. They refuse to call people. So, if you leave, youll have to call to ask how much longer it will take, in which theyll respond, I dont know how long it will take, but youre fourth in line. They do not take their sanitation protocol seriously. One of the patients in the waiting room was eating, wiping her SNOT on the CHAIRS, and coughing everywhere and the staff did NOTHING until I went up to them. They just asked the woman to wait outside, didnt sanitize anything.Once I got my nose swab, I was left in the waiting room for the results, and two doctors walked in my room (shocked I was there) so they are not even aware of who they leave in the waiting rooms.Thought it ended there? No. When you get your results, youll need to wait half an hour for the staff to check you out. This whole experience took more than four hours...for a damn nose swab! Just let me swab it myself and take the sample! Its not okay to do this to people!
The receptionist was lovely and professional. The waiting room was clean and comfortable. The nurse was very polite and friendly while he had to take fluid samples. And, the doctor was patient, asked me good questions applicable to my illness and explained, thoroughly, the reasons behind her need for further tests. I recommend going to afc Urgent Care in Mission Valley, if you must :)
I went to the clinic as a walk in for a Covid test. The wait time was very reasonable and no more than 30 minutes (5 stars for wait time). The front desk staff was very professional and quite knowledgeable with insurance (staff also get a 5 star). The lab tests were done immediately and conveniently inside the same examination room. The lab technician was very professional and proficient (5 stars for the technician). I was then told that the test results will not be ready for another 10 days (this is completely useless for contact tracing)! In the meanwhile, within the past week three of my friends had had same Covid tests done elsewhere with their results available to them within 1-3 days max! Having read others reviews of this clinic, it appears that this is not a new issue with this AFC clinic! If this was my clinic, I would have switched the laboratory I was working with after the first complaint as opposed to keep responding to the Patients complains With “the lab we are working with is backed up”! Obviously there are many other labs that are still turning in results within a reasonable (and meaningful) time to be able to do a contact tracing if the tests turn out to be positive!
I walked in last Sat. evening about an hour before they closed. Just one other patient waiting. I only had to wait a very short time to be seen. I had developed a blister on my tongue that became excruciating painful to the point of not being able to eat or sleep. Both of the staff who saw me made me at once feel very comfortable and assured. Wish I remembered their names. The doctor gave me a prescription for numbing gel which works like a charm. You’d think that after being there all day and close to closing they’d be short or grumpy, etc. Quite the opposite. They were totally caring and made sure I left feeling like I was getting a good solution for my pain.
Dont waste your precious time testing for covid here. Said it would take five to seven days, and they never called me within that time. They lied and said they contacted me, when they did not. My insurance company directed me to go to another facility. This is not for Urgent Care. Its a takes more time which means its not urgent. According to my professional advisers, Urgent Care takes longer fir there off site lab results. My insurance had me restart the process after waiting a week with no results. Pass on this place!
We are visiting from out of town and my friend was injured when she fell off a motorized scooter. I called to see if this location does x-rays and if they accepted patients without insurance! David was very helpful and even offered pricing information so wed have an idea about the cost! We got in right away and everyone was very friendly, and things moved along quickly! We were pleasantly surprised by how affordable everything was as well! The staff also referred us to an orthopedic surgeon who fit us in right away! Our experience was great! Would definitely recommend this location!!!!!
I really dont like ERs or Urgent care. But my experience here gave me hope. Thank you Cynthia for making visit the best I ever had. You were very helpful and attentive to my questions and concerns. Made me feel like a person not a patient. THANK YOU SO MUCH
This is a really nice urgent care. Most of them have you wait forever in the office for a physician, then the physician is super rushed with you and then they still make you wait forever to check out. This place is not like that. They quote accurate wait times, are thorough and then check you out immediately.
Everyone was incredibly helpful, educational, and attentive today and made my visit feel very safe and welcoming. I usually get a great deal of anxiety going to see any doctor, and the team assuaged that anxiety.
By far the worst vist to an urgent care. There is absolutely nothing urgent about this place. You can not check in online. The incompetent employees continuously move the chart order and put people out of place in the queue. Stay away from this place unless you dont mind sitting around all day getting skipped over. I was here several years ago and everything went smoothly. Almost all reviews from the last several months are 1 star. The owner responds that they care, but clearly they dont at all.
Front desk was useless. Pre registration does nothing.
I was in dire need this morning for urgent care, I kept calling other places and they kept refusing me about not having an appointment; or since I have covid symptoms (although I have a negative test result ready) I cannot walk-in.My throat was so sore that I almost gave up in the US health care system. Until I found AFC Urgent Care Mission Valley.- They truly do walk-ins.- Front desk staff service is superb, they are kind and efficient.- Shoutout to Prateek, the medical assistant. He was very helpful and communicative during my assessment, and did not rush me to provide information.
Went in to get Covid testing, which did not require any appointment which was great. Also they close at 8pm which accommodated my work schedule. The staff was super friendly. They told me the wait time would be 3 hours since it was during the week Covid outbreaks were on the rise. I said okay, as long as I can get tested today. Took half the time they initially said to see a provider and get tested. My insurance is Blue Shield of California which they accepted. Would definitely recommend them.
DO NOT come here if you’re truly need an urgent care or a rapid Covid test because there’s nothing urgent about this place at all. I checked in at 3pm and letting them know that I’m with symptoms. There was no triaged or anything. There should’ve been a separate line for people with symptoms so that obviously we don’t contaminated the whole clinic. Anyway, I proceeded to wait out side and have been waiting now for 2 hours and was told that it will be another 45 minutes longer although I was also told that 45 minutes ago. When I checked they told me that they had 3 patients in front of me. I checked again in 30 minutes and the line didn’t move at all. So I asked one of the staffs what’s going on and to give me the real time line so I can make my decision to stay or leave because again I was with symptoms with fever over 102 so I just want to get tested and moved on. The person I spoke with seemed annoyed that I kept asking questions. I understand that they’re doing what they can to move the line but it would have been nice if they’re more service minded especially in healthcare because people only come when they don’t feel good.
Ive been to the facility twice now, once for acute care of an infected spider bite and once as a follow-up to repack/redress the wound for the same. Each time I had a reasonable wait time for walk-in service, the facility is clean and well maintained, and the staff provided excellent service all around. I now consider this to be my (hopefully not frequently needed) go-to place for urgent care.
Worst place.. 4 hours of wait time ..do not go there
They got me in right away and the accepted my insurance but they told me that since I was dealing with an issue that have been going on for a while and couldnt get to a regular physician I had to push them to examine me. but once I did that the examined me and did the x-rays and the tests I needed. the guy at the desk also let me wait inside at closing time for my Uber.
Happened yesterday. Called the nurse line because I felt winded after a few hours of no improvement. She told me I could go to Urgent Care or the ER. I chose urgent because hey, I didnt think it was an emergency. Arrived and there were lots of people waiting in chairs but no one standing in line. As long as my breathing didnt get worse, I could wait. The receptionist took 3 phones calls: questions about traveling, the rapid test and another on waiting times (apparently 3-4 hrs). When she wasnt on call, she was chit chatting with her co-worker about some other co-worker and her schedule.....? After she called a patient who was waiting, I was upset. This girl hadnt even ACKNOWLEDGED me. No hello or it will be a moment so take a seat. Didnt glance above her computer. If I accidentally cut someone, then dont be passive aggressive and tell me. Eventually went over to her co-worker and told her about my breathing and if I should just go to the ER. Very sarcastically said Uh, yeahhh?, rolling her eyes. The receptionist eavesdrops, finally wanting to listen to what I had to say and said yes, definitely. Went to Scripps ER, got checked in and got my vitals taken right away. Doctor was surprised and laughed saying They didnt even take your vitals? Of course they didnt and shook her head. Was given a beta blocker and was cleared to go home after 6 hours. If you have something thats actually urgent, go to the ER. This is a first aid clinic. I didnt know what to expect when I went in but it wasnt that. Bad day? Who knows, but first and only time Ill be here.
This is by far the worst urgent care I have ever gone to. Not only did the prescribe me medication that GAVE me an infection, when I came back in awful pain from the infection they let me sit in the waiting room for a full hour to tell me to go to the ER instead. There is no patient privacy, so unless you want everyone in the waiting to know why you are there, I wouldn’t suggest going here. Staff was rude and insensitive-1000% not trauma informed care. If you love whoever you are going to take here-don’t. They are insensitive, slow, and lack adequate training.
The staff was very upfront and direct about what they could, and could not do for me. They gave me directions on what actions I should take next. I really appreciate the time they took to talk to me about my issue.
The receptionist was very nice. The nurse and doc were also very nice and professional. Despite being a bit under the weather, the whole staff made it simple and easy to get in and out for me. Would highly recommend for anyone that needs a quick urgent care with great service.
Horrible staff attitudes, horrible health care. I came here to be seen for flu like symptoms and back pain. I waited 5 hours to be seen (I know this is normal for these times). The doc came in, stood by the door, asked if I wanted a Covid test , I had to mention I was pregnant and concerned about the back pain in case of a uti or something else that might be going on. She ASKED me if I thought I needed to do a UA. I told the doctor it might be a good idea. She walked out, didn’t check my lungs or back or anything else at all, didn’t really ask about symptoms even. The MA came in, swabbed me for Covid then sent me on my way without discharge paperwork and without a UA. When I realized this as I was walking out I went back and mentioned the ordering of the UA to the medical staff, they got very annoyed and stated “well if you want a UA, you’re going to need to wait in the room for a lot more time because the provider will need to go over it with you, so it’s up to you.” After the treatment I received I decided to just leave. I won’t be coming back here given the amount of negligence they portray.
This place is my go to spot for me and my familys urgent care needs. I probably saved thousands of dollars in ER bills by coming here instead of going to the dreaded ER. From suspected broken bones (they were indeed, broken), ear infections, covid like symptoms, sports injuries, tendonitis, food poisoning, eye injury, they seem to treat just about everything short of life threatening. Unlike my primary care doctors office, they actually have an x-ray machine on site and a radiologist that calls you back the next day with the results. I also can walk in and be seen the same day when I am sometimes unable to get a timely appointment with my regular doctor. I have also received more accurate diagnoses, more compassion, and more follow up than than I have with my regular doctors office. Wait time is indeed longer since Covid, but they havent missed a beat in providing efficient, comprehensive, and quality care. I am glad a place like this exists.
My first time going. Before I went I read the reviews and you should expect to be seen within 2hrs.. you dont have to wait in the waiting room, you can get up and go somewhere, hang in your car or whatever, until they call or text you when theyre ready to see you. Overall I got what I came there for. Just expect to be waiting quite some time..
This place doesn’t even deserve a star for its horrible time and patient management. I came for an X-ray and had to wait for 2 hours with only 2 patients with flu in front of me.All credit to the nurse guy, he’s a pro and very friendly. But I definitely won’t come back here again!
The staff super friendly and helpful. Process wasn’t so bad. We waited in the car which was awesome because we could watch our show while we waited.
The care was amazing. The doctor was great and when I hit a shot from Alex, I didn’t feel the needle go in.Alex was the best !
My 80 year old husband went there and had a positive COVID test. I questioned the doctor about why she was not giving him the prescription for Paxlovid . She said he didn’t need it because he was otherwise healthy. When he got worse I took him to another facility who promptly gave him the prescription but he had lost 2 1/2 days of early treatment. He is 80! I don’t know what she was thinking!
I went here for a UTI months ago, my medical insurance referred me here. That particular day went smoothly, I filled out all my paper work, I was seen and then at the end of my visit before leaving I asked if I needed to pay anything or provide any more information. I was told that I was good to go. Months later, I try to go in for an urgent matter and Im told I have a bill in collections and must pay it before I receive any help. When I asked about it the blame was rather roughly placed on me, the patient, when the fact of the matter is someone made a typo when putting in my insurance information. And when I ask for help to settle the matter, I was brushed off and told to call a number to fix it, and I received no answer. I wish the staff would have been more understanding and patient with me but that was not the service I received.
I will never come back here. I came in around 4:50 due to some unusual targeted back pain. I waited until 7:15 to get seen only for the dr to see me for 2 minutes literally. All she said was “it’s just back pain”. I’ve had back pain for years and I expressed that to her and all she said was to exercise. Now I’ve just waited hours of my time and still have no idea what’s causing my pain and will need to make another appointment to go elsewhere. Never ever ever returning. I don’t understand how someone working in the medical field can just say “it’s just normal back pain” when I’m clearly there for an urgent reason.
Although its a nice day outside, there is no air circulation or fan or air conditioning on.Patients are required to wear a mask, and I get that, but its so stuffy and uncomfortable to such an extreme that it is NOT acceptable. Get it together. Both employees and patients should not be locked inside this place with no circulation whatsoever. Way to breed germs and make sick people uncomfortable.
I came to this place to have my daughter looked at for some stomach ache. First of all they called our name then the doctor showed up publicly stated that they don’t have the test necessary for for that issue not to mention lack of the facility needed. The doctor did not even spend the time explaining and discussing the situation. I have to say they were nice though.Spend some time and be ready for people that’s why called urgent care.
Great and friendly customer service at the front desk.Excellent bedside manner and care from both PA Nichols and Alex.
They’re a joke seriously.Took my mom to get an x-ray after she fell. It takes a week to read the x-ray.Meanwhile you die suffering in pain.Seriously this place is a joke.Never heard of a place that needs 1 week to get an x-ray results.
Absolutely terrible. Took me almost two months and four phone calls to get test results. Good thing it was negative 🤷♂️ Second time I went I was instructed that my stomach problem was too severe to be seen with them (mild cramping and diarrhea) and they sent me to an emergency room that ended up costing me $1000 for a phone call and 2 pills of antibiotics. I know, that’s a lot for an urgent care to handle. Avoid at all costs. Incompetent 👍
Very efficient. Reasonable waiting time. Accepted our insurance. We were visiting San Diego (from Michigan), and fell ill. Needed some understanding of how serious my issue was, and some relief from the pain so I could fly home. The staff was awesome, and Dr. Keeler was kind, thorough, and compassionate, and gave us a clear picture of what we might have to deal with.
Very slow for urgent care and they keep everyone in a small waiting room during a pandemic for hours. Nothing was resolved and no serious meds were prescribed because we had to wait for lab results. Its been 7+ days and the lab results of a simple analytical test for bacterial infection have not arrived. Calls are brushed off and placed on hold. At this point the patient has healed naturally after days of excruciating pain and now has risks of lifetime complications. Unprofessional, inconsiderate, and a ripoff.
I have been waiting for over an hour I was told 1n5/2 hrs when only 3 people ahead if me. When it should b my turn Im told 1 person in front of you. So now I wait longer. Check out is super long today also. A couple was here when I got here and they just left with paper work. I guess its the PA first day. Just a little frustrated. Im ready to be seen. However the staff is super nice. Also I guess you can check in and leave then come back which is total BS. Everyone has a first day just expect not to be seen fast.
