Dr. Mikhail was my best choice for surgery. He was professional, kept my family informed and removed most of my fibroids. I felt taken care of and in good hands. If you’re doubting whether to choose him for surgery… there’s no need. He’s very skilled. Thank you Dr., Mikhail
After dealing with super heavy bleeding during my menstrual periods to the point where I was getting iron infusions for 4 years in a row and every other month, and finding out I had 5 fibroids (two in the uterine cavity and three on the uterine wall, I decided to see Dr. Mikhail because he was highly recommended to me.Because I have not interest on getting a hysterectomy, which is what most Gynecologist usually recommend in my case, I decided to do a hysteroscopy myomectomy, based on his recommendation, hoping to a least remove the fibroids that were inside the uterine cavity and that way, decrease the heavy bleeding during my menstrual cycle until menopause which will be sooner than later because Im on my mid 40s.In October 2023 I had my surgery. I was nervous but excited at the same time. When I woke up from the general anesthesia and had the opportunity to speak with Dr. Mikhail, He said that the surgery was unsuccessful because all the fibroids were on the uterine wall and he could not do much about it.On my follow up appointment, he prescribed me tranexamic acid to help with the heavy menstrual bleeding and I actually got worse. My hemoglobin dropped to 5.0 and I ended up getting blood transfusions for the first time in my life. I had an appointment schedule with him to discussed this issue and my appointment was canceled twice without reason. In May 2024, almost seven moths after my surgery with him, I finally had an appointment on Zoom and because I basically argued with the nurse to get on his schedule. He told me again that the best solution was a hysterectomy but because that was not something I was considering, maybe an embolization could work but he could not do it.That same month, I left work during my period because I was having a hemorrhage. When I got home, I fainted and my husband had to call 911. The ambulance took me to the ER and while there, I had an ultrasound and sonogram that confirmed the presence of the fibroids in my uterus. The ER doctor referred me to a Gynecologist at Womens Care and I decided to set an appointment in order to get a second opinion. I had an other sonogram and ultrasound, and there was not doubt, that there was something inside the uterine cavity that could be removed in order to control the heavy bleeding.A surgery was schedule within two weeks. In September 2024 I had another Hysteroscopy Myomectomy with Myosure and two fibroids and a polyp were removed from my uterine cavity. I got pictures! The fibroids that were on the uterine wall (that Dr. Mikhail said that were untreatable) were treated with the Sonata System and will shrink over time. It has been a month since my surgery and I already had my menstrual cycle and I can definitely see and feel a difference. Plus, I still have my uterus which was my main concern. At this point, I dont know what else to say but that I am glad a got a second opinion. My surgery with the Doctor at Womens Care went great! And that was exactly what I was hoping to get from Dr. Mikhail.
Dr. Mikhail has by far been the best doctor Ive seen. He actually takes time to listen to you as the patient and does so by bringing you to sit down in his office opposed to a rushed talk during an exam. Ive been searching for answers to my issues for YEARS and hes been the first doctor to actually take the time to figure out what is going on instead of trying to mask symptoms by pushing birth control down your throat. I am thankful I have found him and highly recommend him.Update 9/30/24:I recently saw Dr. Mikhail again for another fibroid that I was monitoring. This one was located on the outside of my uterus and was around 10cm. I proceeded with a laparoscopic myomectomy on 9/16/24. I was terrified to have surgery, but Dr. Mikhail and his staff made me feel supported and comfortable along the way. The surgery itself went smoothly and I am happy to report that recovery wasn’t nearly as bad as I imagined and completely doable! He is highly skilled and has both good bedside manners and amazing surgical technique which can sometimes be difficult to find both of these qualities in a physician. I wouldn’t hesitate letting him care for me in the future if needed.
Literally the best of the best for surgery. I had a lot of complications and he got me through with compassion and an excellent standard of care. Very caring and communicative doctor.
Dr. Mikhail is a great human being aside from being amazing at what he does. I will always remember how he treated me with such respect, compassion, and openness during a vulnerable time in my life. I had a successful surgery in 2020. I was able to give birth to my baby boy this year. Without him I wouldn’t have gotten my life back nor be a mom 🤍
I cant say enough wonderful things about Dr. Mikhail. I really appreciated how he listened to me and was very upfront, no nonsense when explaining my situation. I really also liked that he was willing to do my Endometriosis Excision Surgery and Tubal Ligation at the same time so I didnt have to get surgery twice. If you suspect that you have Endometriosis I would highly recommend going to him. I previously saw 2 other doctors who were unwilling to do a Laparoscopy then low and behold Dr Mikhail listened to me and excised the tissue. Definitely worth the wait to see him!
I can’t say enough great things about Dr Mikhail, I was referred to him from my OBGYN, when she found an ovarian cyst and possible Endometriosis. When I met Dr Mikhail, he listened to all my concerns and worries as this was my first ever surgery and my fertility was at risk with all the unknowns. During all my appointments everything went smoothly, morning of surgery was amazing. My surgery was about 2-3 hours. I received the photos after and received the news that the right ovarian cyst was successfully removed and I did in fact have stage 3 Endometriosis.I can’t thank Dr Mikhail and his staff enough. I finally can say I’m starting to be able to do my normal activities and feel great.See Mikhail if you are in need of assistance, he will help. He’s the best in the game!
Dr Mikhail is heaven sent! So kind and has great bedside manner. My surgery was very high risk and Dr. Mikhail made sure I knew and understood what I was going into. He explained everything that could happen. The good, bad, and the ugly! I like this approach because he was prepared for anything. When I had surgery it was long and intense. When I woke up, I was anxiously waiting to hear how my surgery went. The nurse said you had no complications! You can go home today! I broke down crying with tears of joy and praising God. I know God was with Dr. Mikhail and his staff. I felt so good after surgery that I had to make myself not do anything. Every week I felt more and more better. Now I am six weeks out and I feel great! Endometriosis is a horrible silent creep! Dr. Mikhail and his staff understood and knew what to do! I would give him a 100 stars if I could!!
Words can not describe how thankful I am to have met Dr Emad Mikhail. He recently perfomed my surgery for deep infiltrating endometriosis stage IV. He is the best doctor I have ever met and will continue to see him moving foward. I had struggled with deep infiltrating endometriosis for 3 years. I had seen 5 different specialists that all declined my case due to the severity of the condition. I almost gave up hope. After my first visit with dr mihkail I knew he would be able to help me. He gave me hope and confidence in knowing I would be able to return to a normal lifestyle. He made me feel like I was the only patient he had. He kept me informed and updated through out the entire process. Best of all he listened to my every request while providing excellent care. He also kept my family updated during my surgery. My greatest fear was losing my ovaries but dr mihkail was able to perform my surgery and preserve my ovaries. He is very knowledable and highly skilled. I highly reccomend to schedule an appointment with dr mihkail. This was the best decision I have ever made.
Dr. Mikhail and his staff are so wonderful. He performed a surgery that was outside of the scope of every other provider. The surgery could not have been more of a success, even with me having multiple risk factors. He is an absolute expert in his craft. He took the time to explain it to me and had me consult with other specialists to collaborate. The surgery went better than expected with zero complications. I owe so much to him.
He is most definitely an expert in his field !! I was sent to him after my first failed laparoscopy earlier in 2019. Found out my endometriosis was a stage 4 and needed his expertise. Dr. Mikhail was very knowledgeable and broke everything down for me to understand. After finally getting scheduled for surgery, he did everything possible to accommodate me and when i needed to have this done ! The healing process was amazing! Didnt feel any pain from the insicions. He knew I wanted to persevere my fertility and he did everything possible as well ! After more than three years of trying to get pregnant, I finally am all thanks to Dr. Mikhail !!! Anyone with severe endometriosis should see him. I highly recommend his expertise :)
Dr Mikhail is amazing! He is so kind and caring he always gets back to me right away he calls me personally to discuss any and every issue I have. I have not seen him in 10 months. I sent him a email in the portal and he called me to discuss my situation. He is knowledgeable and has empathy to our pain. He literally saved my life! ♥️
I was referred to Dr. Mikhail from a colleague of his at USF for complications with uterine fibroids. Great concern and planning were put in place to successfully eliminate my symptoms of abnormal bleeding, heavy painful menstrual cycles, and anemia. Dr. Mikhail worked with an interventional radiologist Dr.Shube, and meticulously planned a safe and successful surgery.Dr. Makhail was very transparent with me about the process, risks, and outcomes. I communicated with no problems through the app MyChart, in office visits, and telehealth with the doctor, and his response times to questions were quick and informative. Dr. Makhail has an amazing nurse, Eileen in the office and was welcoming, professional, pleasant, and helpful in so many ways in the days leading up to surgery.I had surgery early November 2020 and I am amazed at the level of care I received from the team at Tampa General. I have noticed immediate relief of all of my previous symptoms with no new symptoms or complications. I’m super excited about him saving my uterus and fertility. An additional bonus for me is that Dr. Makhail took care with the look of my incision, very minimal and esthetically appealing, which was a pleasant surprise.Dr. Mikhail is a caring professional who has his patients best outcome in mind at all times.
Dr. Mikhail is a miracle worker. He does not judge. He gives you all available options and lets you choose your treatment once fully informed. He is high demand, but is definitely worth the wait. I highly recommend anyone suffering from endo to reach out to him!
I just wanted to say thank you for your wonderful care and bedside manner. I have had a total of 7 surgeries for various reasons but this was by far the best experience I have ever had with a doctor, nurses, and the hospital itself! Everything was so smooth and organized. Everyone kept me informed along the way. There was no sitting/waiting/wondering about what was going to happen next. Thank you all SO much for caring!! I live 2 hours away, but it was well worth the drive.
This is the best doctor in Tampa to handle your endometriosis. He is very personable, knowledgeable, and comforting. His bedside manners are impeccable and he will treat you like family and explain everything to you from beginning to end. He will make you understand I will not rush you out the door.
Very kind, knowledgeable, patient and understanding. Dealing with Endometriosis is tough but Dr. Mikhail goes out his way to make sure you’re ok. I appreciate him for that. Excellent Dr. Highly recommend
While obviously knowledgeable, this doctor will not listen to your case. If you have a mental illness, he will focus on this rather than your physical illness and will belittle you for it. While he reviews documentation provided from other specialists in the same field that you’ve spent years with prior, he will still make his own assumptions and remind you that he is superior. He will discredit these previous providers, despite the fact that he has no idea who they are. Your voice does not matter in his office, and his way is the only correct way. He’s a man in a woman’s field with no compassion for the pain you’re feeling- clearly incapable of relating (how could he?) to the burden women with endometriosis feel. In addition, he works through two separate facilities that do not communicate whatsoever. I will never be returning to his office, but this was my mistake for thinking a man with a degree might understand my woman issues. NEVER again!!!
I’ve only had one appointment with him so far, but he’s made a massive difference. He’s the first to not push pills on me, and explain my options. He asked me questions, truly showing interests. Most importantly, he explained what needed to be done and let me pick my plan of treatment. He, thus far, has sat and listened to all my questions rather than rushing me out the door. I look forward to future appointments with him and his team.
He is the true definition of what practicing medicine is all about. In today’s world, you find lack of time with the doctor supplemented with most visits spending time with the medical assistants. This Dr. listens to EVERY word you say, and is refreshed and has read up on your history and file PRIOR to you coming for visit. (Not during) He sits with you in His personal office EVERY time prior to an exam to chat with you about your concerns and issues and explains in detail his thoughts and what the exam/procedure will entail. Which is way better than trying to answer questions while on an exam table wrapped in a paper towel! He thinks outside the box and is actually WILLING to put forth his due diligence to solve a problem. I won’t see anybody else! If you want the best GYN care in South Tampa, he’s your guy! If only all drs were like him..!
I am so grateful to Dr. Mikhail for providing excellent care in diagnosis and treatment. He has wonderful beside manner & you can tell he truly cares about his patients!
Dr Mikhail and his staff are a excellent example of a Doctor that truly cares about his patients and their well being .
Pointless.
I came only to give all my recognition to Doctor Emad Mikhail and his entire team, including his assistant Ruth, because I had never felt so protected in the field of health, not even in my own country did they treat me with so much respect and tact. . Endometriosis is a very exhausting process for me, and reaching his arms was being able to recover my life and my peace of mind. Every person who approached me before the surgery did so with such beautiful energy that I am leaving in love with Tampa and its service. I would travel 8 hours by car again just for your attention. Thank you 🙏🏻 ❤️
Super good attention
