Dr. Kongoasa is a one-in-a million gift to humanity. I was told I had at least stage 3 endometriosis by an RE almost a year ago along with multiple other fertility problems that are hurting my chances to get pregnant. After 5 more doctors, an IVF cycle that failed, and some wisdom from a couple of people, I decided to research and seek laparoscopic excision surgery.I carefully read through the Nancys Nook Endometriosis Education website and Facebook page, read reviews on Reddit, Facebook groups, YouTube videos and more to decide who would give me the best chance. As soon as I read about Dr. Kongoasas approach, experience, and moreover, unanimously glowing reviews from people who have had relief, pregnancy, and quality of life, I knew he was my doctor. Trained by Dr. Sinervo, Dr. Kongoasa has taken his experience and focused it in specifically fertility preservation for the hardest cases. He is especially amazing because he specializes in both endometriosis surgery and also reproductive health.I scheduled a consultation with him and he was kind, patient, engaged, and answered all questions I had honestly, without any pushiness or fear-mongering as other doctors have done with me in the past. He had hope in my chances and also let me know the realistic expectations. He did not force any decisions on me, but rather gave me the space and dignity to make the decision for myself. I wound up wanting to ask more questions and scheduled another phone call, to which he again was gracious and generous with his time and focus.I finally had my surgery with him on October 25, 2024 and I am SO grateful I did. I had never had surgery or general anesthesia before and I was so nervous, but as soon as I met with him the day before and met with the Northside hospital staff the next day, I was at ease and knew I was in good hands. He explained each step of what he would do in surgery so that I had no surprises and we again talked about my specific goals for fertility preservation. I was given a well-organized packet of instructions so that I would not feel lost or confused before or after surgery. The day before surgery I reached out to his staff at CRRS with questions I had and they instantly got back to me.From the moment I got to the hospital on the morning of my surgery Dr. Kongoasa and the staff made ALL THE DIFFERENCE in how I felt. I have really bad anxiety and this so easily could have led to panic attacks and stress, but the front desk employees, the nurses, the anesthesiologist, and of course, Dr. Kongoasa fully cared for me and put me at ease. He even respectfully asked if he can pray with me before surgery and I was so grateful to have that! He gently held my hand and made such a caring prayer. He is just such a wonderful human, aside from being literally the best at what he does.I woke up finding out that I had beginning stage 4 DIE endometriosis with endometriomas on each ovary, endometriosis on my sigmoid colon (Ive been dealing with constipation and hemorrhoids for years!), lower back area (where Ive been dealing with crippling pain for years and had no clue it was endo!!!!!), on my bladder (I have urgent, frequent need to pee and it always pinches!), and on my appendix, which he took out, as we had agreed upon. He did chromopertubation, a hysteroscopy, and PRP ovarian treatments as well. I am so grateful he took this disease out as carefully as possible, and I know now that I have the best chance I can to get pregnant.Any time I had questions or concerns after the surgery he and his staff got back to me immediately (he even called me!) and it made all the difference.I am a little over two weeks post surgery and feeling better each day. I already have noticed easier bodily functions and NO BACK PAIN AT ALL!I am so grateful for this second chance at womanhood, fertility, and health, and cannot recommend Dr. Kongoasa, his team at the CRRS, and Northside Hospital enough. I love you all, always!

I posted from my sister’s account over 3 years ago and wanted to give an update.3 years post surgery I have had two beautiful boys born to me and have had my life back. So far, I haven’t had even an inkling of endometriosis or pain. I had one ultrasound show a small cyst on one ovary but I’ve never had any trouble. For the three months I had periods between pregnancies & nursing, they were regular and I didn’t need to take any pain medication. My incisions have left the faintest scar that only I can see because I know it’s there. Some other things I’ve noticed since surgery:-I hardly get sick anymore (immune system is way better!)-I can eat anything I want without stomach issues or bloating-Pollen doesn’t bother me anymore- I have consistent energy and good sleepIf you’re thinking of surgery don’t wait!

I had surgery by Dr. Kongoasa last Friday, May 24th, 2024. I have nothing but good things to say about this doctor. He is easy to get a hold of, never makes you feel dumb for asking questions, and he doesnt make you feel rushed.Medically speaking, he knows what hes talking about. Hes extremely experienced and knowledgeable, and he is also great at educating and empowering his patients. He did an amazing job at cleaning up both of my fallopian tubes, excising a cyst on my right ovary and excising some of the endo tissue I had.He did a beautiful job of healing the roots of my problems and I will be forever grateful for that. I am still on my recovery week, and it has been great. I didnt have any complications, bleeding or any pain. Everything is going very smoothly, and I cant wait to be able to try getting pregnant naturally again.I would 100% recommend Dr. Kongoasa to anyone and everyone with fertility issues. He truly cares about his patients and makes you feel safe, well taken-care of, educated, empowered, and hopeful. His office staff feels like family and is extremely friendly and helpful. Their office runs smoothly without kinks and confusion, and they know, step by step, how to prepare a patient for surgery. This doctor wont waste your time. He knows what hes doing.Every city should have a Dr. Kongoasa in it!Thank you Dr. K, Kelly, Jackie, and everyone else at CCRS for taking care of me and giving me hope back. And thank you, Jesus and Holy Mary, for providing such an amazing staff!

Posting from my sisters account:5 stars is not enough!!I got surgery with Dr. Kongoasa this summer, and I have nothing but good things to say about this doctor. He is easy to get ahold of, never makes you feel dumb for asking questions, and he doesnt make you feel rushed or like he doesnt have time for you. Ive found with other doctors, Ill often feel like Im bothering them, but with Dr. K I felt like I was his only patient (which obviously isnt true since he is such a great doctor!).Medically speaking, he knows what hes talking about. Hes extremely experienced and knowledgeable and he also is great at educating and empowering his patients. He did an amazing job at excising my endo (which was stage III and I needed bowel work) and my nurses commented on how neat and well done my incisions were. He doesnt use hormone or suppression therapy or ablation.I had some complications after my surgery, and Dr. Kongoasa donated a ton of post-op time. He was by my side and not only worked hard to figure out what was wrong and how to fix it, but also did it in the most affordable way possible. I am from Canada and dont have insurance and he was very conscientious and respectful of that. His office also has a cap on how much they charge the patient, so they are really affordable.(Northside hospital is not. Just fyi to Canadian patients. CCRS is separate from the hospital).Dr. K prayed with me before my surgery and when I had complications, he called his office and had his staff praying for me as well. When I thanked him, he gave all the glory to God. He is truly a doctor who listens for Gods voice and follows it!I would 100% recommend Dr. Kongoasa to anyone and everyone with endometriosis or fertility issues. He truly cares about his patients and makes you feel safe, well taken-care of, educated, empowered, and hopeful. His office staff feels like family and is extremely friendly and helpful. Their office runs smoothly without kinks and confusion and they knew, step by step, how to prepare me as an international patient for surgery. This doctor wont waste your time. He knows what hes doing.Every city should have a Dr. Kongoasa in it!Thank you Dr. K, Kelly, Shannon, and everyone else at CCRS for taking care of me and giving me my hope back. And thank you Jesus for providing such an amazing staff!< Janelle

I was recently diagnosed with begining stages of endometriosis in early 2017 confirmed in 2018 that I had it for sure in May 2018. Every month was a battle got worse, missed work, didnt know what to do. I googled and God led me to Dr. Nicholas Kongoasa by far the best surgeon, complete history and physical, in depth questions, I mean A+ physician. I was going to wait to do my surgery until after new year but he insisted by my exam we should do sooner. So glad I listened to him I had Stage 2 endometriosis that was very close to my bowel had I waited would most likely been stage 3 or 4 and would have had a bowel resection too. I say do the consultation with him, he is AMAZING, there are few doctors that when you email return your email right away like he does. He prayed with me before surgery and he is just an AMAZING doctor WHO GENUINELY CARES for his patients. I would recommend him to anyone. A hysterectomy is not a guarantee! Recovery isnt great but could be a lot worse he puts you on a regimen around the clock stick to it so you will just be sore little pain nothing like we experienced when we had flare ups. Dr. K I cant thank you enough you are an outstanding physician and great bed side manner! Looking forward to having my life back!! Dont wait consult with him TODAY!!!Thanks AgainJules

I cannot say enough great things about Dr. K and the staff at the CRRS. He is thorough, responsive, compassionate, has fantastic bedside manner, and most importantly is a talented surgeon. I would highly recommend him, especially if a major goal of your surgery is to overcome infertility. He approaches infertility from multiple angles (not only excising endometriosis). I know this method is successful, because after 4 years of infertility, I am 26 weeks pregnant with my first miracle baby.In September 2018, Dr. K excised my Stage IV endometriosis, performed a selective chromotubation, D&C, endometrial biopsy, bilateral endometriomas removed, and appendectomy. My surgery was about 4.5 hours long and I stayed in the hospital overnight. We’re from VA so we did have to stay in Atlanta for two days following discharge before going home. Dr. K is fantastic at managing pain and checked in with me frequently post-op to make sure I was healing well and did not have any concerns. He even went as far as working with my physician in Virginia in suggesting different treatment options for my infertility. I believe without his recommendations I wouldnt be expecting my little baby boy. I truly cannot say enough great things about my experience with Dr. K.

If I could I would give dr K 100000 stars because he seriously by far the bestest endometriosis specialist I have ever come across. I had stage 4 endo and dr K successfully removed all my endo and I can’t explain in words how my life has changed already. He has helped me soooo much that I thank god for putting me in his hands. I would recommend everyone to see him, even if it’s not endo related he is the best gyneocologist in Atlanta. I had endo for 5 years and I went to so many gynos before and all they offered was birth control and other medications. But dr K listened to me and understood my problem and suggested surgery and finally!!! I am in no more pain and have no endo left!! I would like to thank dr Kongoasa and his team for everything. I think dr K needs more recognition and wish everyone to go to just him and not waste time on other Gyneocologist and you will see for yourself what magic dr K can do. He prayed along side me before my surgery and came to see me every morning after surgery to see how I was doing. He is so caring and I will always go to him now for everything. Thank you to the CRRS team for everything!!!!!

Words cannot describe how amazing Dr. K and his staff are (and above all else, if this is important to you, he gives all the glory to God!).I’ve had severe endometriosis for years. The last year-and-a-half of my life had been particularly bad as I was in pain constantly, and was dismissed, partially believed, or given tons of medication by other, often well-meaning physicians. But NOT with Dr. K.He, as an instrument of God, saved my life (not literally, but like my quality of life). There are just no words to describe how much better my body feels. If you’re suffering from endo, please, please see Dr. K (or an excision specialist like him - found on Nancy’s Nook Facebook page).By the way - if you’re hesitant because a lot of the comments/emphasis is on fertility, don’t worry about that if that’s not your goal! I’m not planning to get pregnant anytime soon, but that didn’t affect the level of care or surgery I received.
