Manhattan Medical Arts - W 13th St Union Square

This place is a joke. I went there in November for a consult for weight loss help. They ran tests and told me they would send for approval to my insurance company. I never heard back from them. I called numerous times and never received a return message. When I finally got someone they told me they sent my prescription to my pharmacy. When I went to pick it up I was told that it was not covered by my insurance. I have tried numerous times to get an answer as to why they never called me to tell me whether my insurance company approved or not. I am still waiting for an answer.Do you just post the below message so that people who read this review think you are taking care of the issue? Because I emailed you right away and once again, never heard back.

I had an outstanding experience thanks to Alex’s incredible customer service! They went above and beyond to ensure that Dr. Silva could send my prescription to a pharmacy with the medication in stock. Alex’s attentiveness and dedication made all the difference. I truly appreciate the effort and support especially since I was having a hard time doing it myself. Thank you so much for making this process smoother than ever! Highly recommend!

By far the best urgent care/family practice physician I have ever been to. Customer service is excellent, always reminding my of upcoming appointments and helping me with any personal needs. The physicians are knowledgeable and caring. The waiting time has never been an issue which is uncommon in a city like Manhattan.

Manhattan Medical Arts provides good care in a professional and welcoming environment. The office is clean and organized, and the staff is courteous and efficient, making the check-in process straightforward.The doctors are thorough and take the time to listen to concerns, explain options, and provide thoughtful, personalized care. Update: I want to point out that everyone I have interacted with at the office is always very kind and very nice. That has never been the issues. I was in the office today and we were able to sort out the problem and I did receive a partial refund of the prescription- only for what had not been used. I appreciate them following up with me to resolve this matter.Original post: Not bad but not great. I was told by the team at the office that my insurance would not cover a prescription saying that the insurance denied their request and that I had the option to pay out of pocket $650 for prescription. So I did. Then 5 days later I get a letter from my insurance explaining why they denied the coverage- in the letter it said that the doctors office did not supply them with the chart notes and that if I had the doctors office resubmit for authorization they would approve the prescription. So I called MMA and had them resubmit the authorization - boom. Prescription approved within 15 minutes of the submission. So now I am trying to get a reimbursement of the $650 I paid out pocket due to the doctors and the staffs mistake. I call weekly asking for an update and just keep getting oh we are looking into it.

Alex (operator) is very helpful and represents amazing customer service.Not sure about the actual clinic itself, they do not follow up with scheduling a follow up. I had a knee scrapped deeply after an out of state work trip & I had to ask the doctor to look at it at the conclusion of explaining what and what happened (she was ready to send me off); I urged for x-rays but the doctor stated it would be a waste of money as well as not necessary. I begged for my referral & glad I did because the x-ray captured that I had a whole in my bone, above my knee scrap/ injury. I now after seeing an Orthopedic elsewhere confirmed I need quarterly monitoring. I would suggest you go elsewhere instead of this clinic.

The person that helps via the phone is super helpful! I’ve never had an issue with communication in that sense. I also enjoyed the doctor but I was pretty bummed after my first time there I received a bill after the person in the front told me my insurance was okay and then later on to find out I am not covered. I recommend coming here but do your research with your insurance first because there seems to be some miscommunication on that end. They did end up taking care of it, which I really appreciated; but would have loved to avoid that whole process.

NP Azalia was fantastic! She was clear, personable and very informative. I enjoyed talking to her and will look forward to my next visit. The rest of the Manhattan Medical Arts team was wonderful as well. I barely waited and everything billing wise was made clear to me. The customer support specialist is incredible on the phone. Their app is also super helpful and user friendly. Finally, to top it all off, the office is modern and beautiful! Can’t recommend this place enough

I had a scheduled telehealth appointment but at the appointment I was told the provider wasnt in and I would get a call later in the week which I agreed to. I called many times to get in touch with provider for my scheduled appointment without success. I also needed paperwork, a single page, filled out which wasnt provided despite asking for it multiple times via phone and email. Never met with provider despite being reassured I would. I was also bounced around to different departments (i.e., billing department and front desk staff) and was told I would get call back on 5 occasions and did not receive any calls back. I also left 3 or 4 voicemails which they never replied to. After almost a month I requested a refund because it was clear I would not get the service no matter how patient I was. Billing department said they said they would give me a refund, but did not. I had to call my credit card company to get a refund for the copay for the service I never received. Not worth the hassle due to how disorganized and unresponsive they are.

I recently started attending Manhattan Medical Arts with Dr. Silva at Forest Hills . So far I’ve had nothing but good experiences . I feel comfortable with the staff and mainly with the doctor as well. He’s a great doctor and will go out of his way for you. Wait time is also not long usually no more than 20 minutes since I’ve been going. I’m very happy with their services.

DO NOT GO to Manhattan Medical Arts, its strongly recommended staying away from this place. This place is a scam. They’ll do anything to charge your insurance, even if it means performing unnecessary procedures or overcharging. Their treatment methods are unprofessional, and its clear they don’t know what they’re doing.Additionally, when you call the office, youre not actually speaking to someone at the location—you’ll be connected with a representative from India. This is incredibly frustrating and unprofessional.To make matters worse, if you scroll through the reviews, you’ll notice many seem fake. There are multiple bot-created accounts leaving positive reviews, which is just another red flag. These people are clearly engaged in insurance fraud and dishonesty. DO NOT FIND OUT THIS INFORMATION FOR YOURSELF! I would never recommend this place to anyone, save yourself the trouble and find a trustworthy practice.

Dr. Sara Naiim was amazing ! I was able to get a same day appointment and when I had trouble accessing my link I was able to contact someone from their office easily! They were a tremendous help in answering any of my questions. Special thanks to Alex was a huge help and very chipper on the phone. It always nice to hear a friendly and helpful voice. Looking forward to making future appointments here !!! 10/10 recommend

I had a deeply disappointing experience here. While the facility itself is clean and modern, offering a well-designed space, the actual service left much to be desired. One of the most frustrating aspects was the long wait times, both for appointments and on the phone, when trying to reach customer service. It felt like there was little regard for patient time or concerns, and it was difficult to get a timely response from their staff.Additionally, the providers at this facility seem to rely heavily on medication as a solution for nearly every issue, with little effort to explore natural treatment options or discuss alternatives with patients. This one-size-fits-all approach was not only disappointing but also dismissive of the potential for other, less invasive forms of care. I also felt that my preferences as a patient were not taken seriously—there was a lack of openness to considering other treatment methods I was interested in trying.Overall, while Manhattan Medical Arts may look appealing on the surface, I would not recommend it based on my experience. The poor service, long wait times, and lack of consideration for patient preferences made it difficult to trust that my healthcare needs were truly being met. I expected better, especially considering their affiliation with NYU Langone Hospital and Columbia Center for Family and Community Medicine. It’s a shame that their service does not live up to these affiliations.

UPDATED: I reached out to them as the response to my review asks. The bill they sent has no show charges and they dont match the claims sent to my insurance. For the last 3 weeks Ive attempted to get information from them, and they continue to avoid my inquiries. If you read other reviews, youll see this is not the first time this has happened to patients of theirs. Be careful!Do not let the recent reviews fool you. This practice is unethical and has a shady billing department. Be aware!

Great quality of care. The doctors in the office are great and responsive. They do a lot of the testing (bloodwork, urine, ekg, etc) in office too, which is very convenient for me. In addition, the staff is very friendly and even helped me with my prior authorization on a test!

As someone who values both professionalism and compassion in healthcare, I was disappointed with my visit to Manhattan Medical Arts on W 13th St. The clinic was understaffed, which led to long wait times, and the receptionist seemed overwhelmed, resulting in a lack of warmth and courtesy. The medical professional I saw appeared rushed and inattentive, which did not inspire confidence in their care. I would caution others to consider alternative options if they are seeking a more attentive and patient-centered experience.

Ive had a great experience with this office. Harry is very informative, knowledgeable, communicative, and timely. He keeps me updated and I really do appreciate that. The doctors are very involved, follow-up with me on any concerns Ive brought up, and are knowledgeable as well. The office is flexible, clean, and I do appreciate the quality of care Ive received here.

I recently visited Manhattan Medical Art, and I had a great experience. Dr. Sarah and the entire staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable throughout the process. Communication was excellent; they clearly explained everything I needed to know and answered all my questions. The entire procedure was quick and efficient. I highly recommend this clinic.

I am happy with my Provider Crystal Chung, she is very nice and ways to talk to. As well as Alex their customer administrative. So easy to get an appointment.

I visited Dr Syra Hanif for the first time recently and had a great experience. I felt like my doctor was very present during my appointment and gave full attention. Confident that Dr’s medical advice was accurate.Front desk was nice and helpful. Nurse was also nice and helpful.Area outside the office location is a bit questionable but the office itself is nice.

We have been with Manhattan Mecical Arts for years. Easy to get through on the phone. If I leave a message they get back to me in no time. I can often get an appointment quickly, either with Dr Hanif herself or one of the other amazing PAs! We’ve been able to do virtual or phone appointments as well. Always been taken care of from the time Alex or Harry answer the phone to the time I am getting my Rx filled; and if a referral is needed, we’ve been able to get one fast.I recommend! 🙌

HORRIBLE!!! I went into this medical clinic because I was having a fever and it was the clinic closest to me. Once I walked inside the clinic was so empty that it felt like a tumbleweed was gonna pass by me. As someone who goes to the doctors as often as me I felt skeptical the second I got called into the doctors office. The office was so unprofessional that there were tools laying around everywhere and when the doctor assistant came to take my temperature the assistant was asking me to take my pants off like a doctor assistant that doesn’t know how to take temperature???????Like it’s common sense and if I could rate this place a 0 I would gladly do it because this place doesn’t even deserve a one star. Thats how HORRIBLE my visit was.

These folks are amazing! Hardly any wait time, the staff are friendly and the medical professionals listen and explain fully. I can ask questions and provide information by text and am kept up to date on any insurance issues!

I have major anxiety about going to the doctor, even for an annual physical. After searching for a new PCP, I feel very lucky to have found Dr. Hanif who is kind, thorough and made me feel at ease.The same goes for Dr. Ehrich who took great care and time to explain everything going on and all tests Id be taking. Finding doctors who are not rushing and who take the time to make sure patients are comfortable and make the effort to explain can be hard to find and I feel very lucky to have found wonderful doctors.

I had a great experience, Nurse practitionerAkeilia Thompson is amazing she genuinely cares and answer any questions and concern. I love the text service, the team responds in minutes. I just wish I can get longer gaps in my appointments since I have a crazy schedule.

I ’m now on my second annual check and several follow-ups at this relatively new clinic, and I love it! The location is convenient, the facility is clean, and theres minimal waiting time. The medical staff is exceptional, using advanced technology for thorough care. My partner cardiologist is superb.

Absolutely amazing, I had been worried about finding a new doctor for a while but once I saw the reviews for Manhattan medical arts I decided to give them a try. I should have came to them sooner! They made me feel comfortable, heard, and important. They addressed all of my concerns and followed up multiple times to make sure I didn’t have any additional questions. Dr. Hanif was personable and reassuring. I am used to feeling rushed with doctors but Dr. Hanif never made me feel that way. She instead took the time to get to know me and my health concerns.

I love this office!! Staff is very kind and professional. The Doctors here are very informative and helpful. They listen to everything you have to say and provide their expertise opinion on anything you want to talk about. My new go to office for PCP and cardiology but they have other doctors there as well))

Would give negative stars if I could. I visited this office ONCE and they ran sooo many unnecessary tests, trying to squeeze as much out of me and my insurance as possible. They then required a follow up appointment with a specialist that I cancelled, through text message because they outsource their calls to India. This happened in May. I was charged TODAY for a missed appointment for that specialist without any notice or bill. I called and of course got the call center but I had a feeling they were going to do something shady like this and kept the text message for this exact reason. It has TWO requests for cancellation. All they care about is $$$, run and LOOK BACK because they will charge you for any little thing they can.EDIT: They refunded me and then had the audacity to ask me to give a 5 star review on Google because the charge was a “system error”.

Dr. Syra Hanif & her staff have the absolute best bedside manner. It is very easy to book an appointment whether virtual or in person. You can easily text and someone will reply 24/7. There is no wait time when you arrive to your appointment so you can plan your day accordingly. The office is always very clean. At your visit Dr. Hanif actually listens to your concerns and symptoms and is open to dialogue about your potential diagnosis. This is something that is hard to come by these days most doctors do not care to see, talk, or touch you during the visit. She reviewed my exams from another specialist, who ignored my symptoms & failed to make a diagnosis that required urgent surgery. All in all, Dr. Hanif truly cares about her patients and their health. I would absolutely recommend her & her staff.

I initially started visiting Manhattan Medical Arts for weight loss, but they have quickly become my primary care providers. Their level of care, patience, and thoroughness is unmatched. From cardiology to weight management, they do it all. I can’t recommend them enough!

What I love about Manhattan Medical Arts is there’s everything under one roof, staff is a hit or miss. I’ve had friendly and unfriendly meetings. I really wish they had a direct line to the office, that third party line is bad-I always have to speak with someone and have to repeat myself a lot. I worry that communication between the two gets lost in translation and it’s not the most efficient experience.

I did USCIS exam here and got a great experience.Harry gave me prompt help and answer all my questions before the appointment. Doctor Naeem is very patient and professional. She knows well about the process and details of this exam. The ma’am at the reception is also very kind.The most amazing part is during vaccine injection and blood tests. I have many experiences before in different countries. But Kelly must be the top!! I felt completely no hurts. She is so good and experienced.👍

The best medical office I have ever been to! The staff were extremely helpful- both the call center and receptionists were amazing. From the moment I booked my appointment, the staff were great at communicating with me and being very understanding when it came to having to reschedule. I was able to get an appointment right away, and Dr. Crystal Chong was amazing as well. I felt very comfortable and left feeling reassured that I was in good care. They were even flexible with scheduling my follow up appointment. This medical office has primary care physicians that specialize in other practices as well, so I will be sticking with them moving forward. My experience was 10/10.

I went to the manhattan office for an annual checkup. Office is clean and I didn’t have to wait. Staff (front desk), nurse and doctor were friendly, clear and efficient. I hate blood test (hadn’t gone to any doctor in 5 years….) but they made it very easy. I will go back.

I have had multiple good experiences at Manhattan Medical Arts for sick visits, women’s health annual visits, and annual physical visits. Provider Akeilia Thompson is professional, helpful, and kind. She always answers all of my questions. Ben calls and texts with appointment reminders and follow ups, and has helped me to schedule and reschedule appointments easily. The front desk staff is always friendly, and it is easy to sign into the patient portal to see appointments and test results. I would recommend this practice to any friends.

I have been seeing Dr.Crystal Chung and she always takes care of me .Today I saw Dr. Sarah and and I had a over the phone appointment a couple days ago because of some medical issues I was having and she listened and got me the medicine I needed .Today she was so nice and relatable .Her assistant Danielle was also so kind and helped me with my test so patiently. Thank you for taking care of me.

I had an appointment for a physical on a Saturday July 20th. One of the reasons why I originally chose this provider was because they were open on Saturdays. This was my second time there. The first time (in May 2024) I had an annual pap and pelvic with NP Thompson. I like her so much that I decided to make them my PCP. Thompson was very friendly, professional, made me comfortable and shared her knowledge on many things I had questions about. Unlike many health care providers, I did not feel rushed or judged. I left feeling like I had had a meeting with a friend, not a Dr. When I arrived for my second apt. I was told Thompson was not there and I had to see Dr. Hanif. The visit went very well. Dr. Hanif was nice, professional and answered all my questions as well. The nurse who took my vitals, tests and blood was also gentle, polite and explained everything asking the way. I would’ve liked to have been told, before I arrived, that I would not be seeing Thompson. However, the visit went very well and all my needs were met. I also like that this office responds to text and always returns my phone calls.Update 10/3/24I needed a referral from Dr. Hanif to see a specialist. The specialist didn’t inform me until two days before my apt. Dr. Hanif had a phone appointment with me the same day and sent the referral the next day. I was emailed a copy of the referral and Dr. Hanif’s staff kept in contact with me via text and phone calls to make sure I had everything I needed prior to my apt with the specialist. As I stated in my last review, I love that this office responds so promptly to any issues I have.Update 1/2/2025Today I needed a prescription refill. I love the convenience of being able to text the office for my medical needs. Someone always responds promptly. I received a phone call a couple hours later letting me know that my prescription refill had been sent to my pharmacy and was ready for pick up. Excellent service!

I went in for an annual physical. The entire staff was kind and helpful. I was taken almost right away and from that point on it was a good experience. PA Chung was kind, informative and helpful. She made me feel at ease while giving me a thorough physical exam. I highly recommend.

A really easy process and good experience. I found the office online (google) and made an appointment. The wait wasnt too long and the staff and doctors were very informative and professional. I would definitely recommend anyone needing a doctor or any of their services that they provide.

I had a follow up with Akeilia Akivia - we went over my blood results and she was very knowledgeable and supportive. I also asked for a referral which she happily gave to me for a gastroenterologist. Alex- the receptionist called me for my appt and actually was 10 min earlier than my scheduled appt. He was very patient and helpful. Thanks!

Update october: I made it one prescription cycle without issues (3 months) soon as that ran out back to having to call and beg for my prescription that Im not supposed to miss for more than a few days. Now I am being asked to book a virtual appointment. My annual was in March and I have talked to the doctor almost monthly due to inability to fill the prescription. The doctor is always able to solve the issue, but it takes weeks to get to talk to her. On top of that I just received a bill because they are counting them as online visits, when I had to talk to the doctor to get my prescription, so the last thing I want to do is book another virtual appointment.Update: received a call from the call center asking me to remove the review saying they can send screenshots of them escilating the issue I was facing two days ago. I explained how the issue is still not resolved and I had to call to make an apt with the doctor to resolve the issue. They agreed with me but they asked again to please remove my review becuase they have resolved issues in the past.Doctor is amazing but calling for a prescription refill or any questions is a joke because you are connected with a call center that does absolutely nothing. Will unfortunately have to probably switch doctors.Edit: This response by the owner is an absolute lie and I will br happy to upload screenshots if called out again. The reason I am revisiting this review is yet another month of dealing with this situation againEdit: followed up today and said they hadnt heard back from doctor asked if they had followed up and they asked why?. This is malpractice. I have been waiting for a med for a week Im not supposed to miss for over a few days.

Dr. Syra was very kind and understood my concerns, while providing me with proper instruction and medication to address my condition. I highly recommend her to anyone and even though it was telehealth visit she made me feel as though I was in person, ensuring it was a comprehensive check in and everything was addressed.

I like that this medical facility has everything I need all in one spot! The wait time is never long, max time I’ve waited is maybe 30 minutes. I’ve been at other locations and wait times were 1-2hours!! Alex is super helpful in getting all my appointments scheduled and sending reminders of upcoming appointments, as I can get forgetful!

This place is horrible. My brother had severe brain damage and is on seizure medication and these people don’t have the decency to refill his medication when I call them and tell them it’s almost done. They also changed his medication and wouldn’t change it back to the old one unless I brought him back, even after expressing the concerns and side effects he’s been experiencing on the new medication. They make you change your primary care to them when you make an appt for anything else so that they can bill your insurance for things that you didn’t go there for.

PA Chung really took care of me. She was so friendly and really cared for my concern and gave me reassurance. Everyone in the clinic was so welcoming and I was so happy to be accommodated for a last minute appointment on a Saturday.

Really comfortable and attentive practice. I saw Akeilia Thompson, who talked through everything with me and had a holistic approach, which I appreciated. Shout out to Harry too for making all the logistics run smoothly and for helping me get an appointment quickly and comfortably. When i had an issue with meds and insurance, Christopher helped me out quickly and kindly. Its rare to find a practice this caring in NYC!

DR. Silva is great. He takes his time and he cares about your outcome. Harry from customer service is also great getting all my medical records to my other doctors.

NEVER COME HERE - DONT EVEN CONSIDERIf I could give this office and staff zero stars I would. They make patients wait 30-40 minutes minimum after your scheduled appointment no matter the occasion - I experienced it with ever primary care visit and even their cardio (Dr Ehrich) multiple times. They have called me more than once on the day of my appointment and said they can no longer meet at the scheduled time. Today I arrived at my appointment end of day and their office had decided to close early with no notification issued to me - just 24hrs after I had confirmed it with them! Their communications service SUCKS - outsourced IT that puts up a fight (or lies to your face) when you ask to speak with the front desk. I tried to stick it out with this office for over 3 years but after being disappointed by their process, service quality, and patient experience EVERY TIME enough is enough. I am going somewhere an extra 12 blocks away just to FORGET how all encompassing their shortfalls were.

Scam! They just charged me over $600 for no reason, haven’t had an appointment with them recently and they categorise appointment as emotional/behavioural assessment ($18) which is offensive! I had already paid a $75 co pay to visit each time with insurance.

Even though it’s a little bit of a travel for me to get there, it’s worth it! My first time going there I was experiencing really bad panic attacks and a provider by the name of Akeilia Thompson reassured me that everything would be ok. Months later I haven’t had a panic attack since. She knew exactly what to provide to get me back to myself. I am extremely grateful for her! Stay away of this place at all cost. They bluntly try to scam patients as much as they can. They billed me (an insane amount of money for a simple check up) and then started to send me emails and letters more than 3 months later claiming that I still had balance due (which I had already paid!). When I called them, they quickly said my balance was paid and no action was needed, without even asking for my name or invoice number... They were clearly sending these emails to see who would be stupid enough to pay twice. I sadly see older or more vulnerable people falling for this trap... Also, the service was terrible: they made me wait one hour for an appointment (that was scheduled) and the doctor saw me for a grand total of 3 minutes.

The staff is absolutely lovely. Dr. Karif, Dr. Erich, the Nurse Practioners, Akeilia, and Christina are all wonderful. They were all very knowledgeable, empathetic, and kind. They answered all of my questions and got my health back on track. Harry is wonderful too. He is always very pleasant, understanding, and helpful.

I’m not sure if this place is a money laundering scheme but I found them on my insurance agency site, listed as people who take my insurance obviously. I went to my appointment, paid a copay, the doctors were ok and left. A week or two later, they decide they do not take my insurance and I owe them $530? Absolutely not, babe. That’s crazy lmao you can’t go back on a decision like that - I would’ve never came to you to begin with! This is absolutely a money laundering scheme or something and you should all watch out before they decide not to take your insurance and start sending debt collectors after you🫨

RUN! This place is a SCAM that only wants your co-pay and to bill your insurance. Dr. Silva is a disaster! I should have known something was off when I called the office’s number and got a call center in India…and when I asked to speak with someone at the actual office, they said I cant transfer you.The wait times are long, the front desk staff is rude and inattentive, and the medical assistants don’t even know how to draw blood and take a person’s temperature. Y’all, I thought I was in the Twilight Zone visiting this office. A medical assistant who doesn’t know how to draw blood or take a temperature?????Moreover, Dr. Mauricio Silva, one of the center’s “leading” doctors, is incompetent and does not know much about medicine, which is sad considering he is DOCTOR (smh).There are thousands of medical offices around the city that you can find on ZocDoc or by doing a simple Google search. Do not waste your time with this predatory medical center.

Absolutely dismal clerical disorganization. The provider I saw was absolutely lovely and its unfortunate that shes trapped in such a mess of an office. Where to begin?- I booked a follow up for several weeks out so I could get an MRI as instructed by my provider. They put it in the system for the following day (?) and gave me problems when I went to reschedule- They decided they didnt take my insurance a week after taking my insurance, and having my insurance listed on their website and zocdoc- I booked a telehealth appointment, for which I received a link for intake and to log onto the appointment. After completing intake, I sat in the appointment awaiting my provider for a half hour before calling the front desk, who acted like they never heard of the link they had just sent me, and had the provider call me instead.- They refuse to send me an email receipt from appointments- I cancelled an appointment in the portal a week in advance (due to them no longer accepting my insurance) and am still receiving texts and emails about my upcoming appointment. they refuse to send me an email confirmation of the cancellation, which is reflecting in the portal.Absolutely disorganized scam artists trying to extract as much $ as possible from people seeking medical care.

No one ever knows whats going on it seems... I specifically made an appointment to see one of the NPs three weeks ago and theyre telling me Ill be seeing someone totally different because she doesnt work these days... So why was I available to schedule with her AND the call center told me this was in fact her schedule...Now today I have an appointment to see Syra. I made the appointment a few days prior for 3:30PM. I then get a message informing me that shes NOT available at that time (so why does it say she is?) I then tell them that 4:00PM will work and everything is set. TODAY the day of my appointment I am seeing a different provider with absolutely no heads up and am told that Syra doesnt work today.Overall the provider I did meet with was kind, however I will definitely be changing my PCP after today and never coming here again.

I had a customer service call with Jacob, he was very attentive and helpful to my needs. The AI generated call did not work properly, right after I texted the number I got a call from him and I was able to get my appointment rescheduled. The doctors are great and the front desk manners are great too.

Did bloodwork a week ago, had a follow up appointment to discuss results, sat for over an hour past my follow up appointment waiting for the Dr. to tell me results, he comes in unapologetically and starts explaining to me how to read nutritional labels??? I tell him to just tell me the results and he says the lab never ran them and there are no results/ we have to do the blood work again. Fired them on the spot. I would give negative 5 stars if I could.

This place is hilarious (derogatory) and you should stay as far away as possible. Im normally not the type to leave reviews, but yesterday I needed to get a rapid PCR test so I went here as it was one of the few places offering it. I took the test, was promised Id get a result within a half hour, and left the clinic.Big mistake.After two or so hours, I still hadnt gotten an update on the status of the test. I tried to call. Nobody picked up. I left a message. No dice. (Turns out they outsource their entire phone operation to a call center, which is absolutely insane practice for a medical practice.) I ended up having to go back in person to ask them why the result hadnt posted yet, only to get some excuse about how there was a glitch in the system. At least I got my result at that point, although given how bad the experience was, I have very low confidence in the result.The real kicker here? I paid $175 out of pocket, costs that were not made clear anywhere on their website. Im not surprised to see the other reviews here noting the predatory billing practices of this clinic; I cant even imagine what kind of bills Id be getting if I trusted these people with my primary care.

Really great experience from Alissa(SP) to NP Akeilia Thompson, both were so very thorough, kind and I appreciate that an EKG and a pulmonary function test were offered as part of my annual physical. I haven’t had those tests offered before, I’m really glad that they did. I arrived early for my appointment and was seen 5 minutes after my appointed time. The facility including the bathroom is clean, modern and vibrant. Wait times to be seen weren’t incredibly long, once in the examination room Alissa the medical assistant arrived within 5 minutes and asked all routine questions and explained why each lab was done. She was really warm and professional. Total time for the physical from arrival to the examination room until end was about 1 hour 30 minutes. Overall a great experience, I’m more than happy to assign NP Thompson as my PCP going forward. Thank you Manhattan Medical Arts!

I wasnt even able to get seen the minute I walked in I was met with hostility from the receptionist. I walked in with an appointment she looked me up and told me I had a 100$ co-pay which is fine but when I asked about my free annual visit it seemed like a chore for her to look up then she rudely ask me what are you even here for I said I was here for my annual Checkup, She then proceeded to tell me whatever my insurance doesnt cover I would have to pay for out of pocket in a very rude tone. I then told her to cancel my appointment as if the first person I talk to at a doctor office treats me badly for just asking a question is not a place I would want to go to when Im not feeling well.

I found Dr. Mauricio Silva on ZocDoc. I have been to see him a couple of times, and am very pleased with the service, thoroughness and attention to detail he gives. It is very important to find a Dr. who listens, and who gives the patient the feeling that they really do care about your health. Dr. Silva is all of that. That may sound obvious, but was not my prior experience from my previous Primary Care Physician.When I first met the Dr., I pretty much conducted an interview as I wanted to make sure we were a fit.I must also include Jacob who is my contact in the Dr.s office. He is extremely helpful, especially when it came to having to get a prescription refill. Again, Jacobs attention to detail, and eagerness to help is stellar. And always makes follow up calls.I attend their location in Forest Hills, Queens and I can highly recommend Manhattan Medical Arts.

Made a reservation for RT-PCR and arrived a little earlier. Then, I got tested right away. The test was quick and painless. They were very kind and professional.

SCAM! This place will bill you for services you never received. Their goal is to get as much money as they can from you and provide as little care as possible. Also, the doctor here, Dr. Silva, is homophobic and does not like serving members of the lgbtq+ community. He will not properly provide you care of you are gay. This place needs to be closed PERMANENTLY.

I found Dr. Mauricio Silva through Zocdoc and everything went fine until it was the day of the video call. The practice called to confirm my appointment. At 10:00 am, he never shows for the video game. I gave him until 10:20 am and called the office to ask what was going on. They told me that he was wrapping up with a patient and would call me in 2 minutes. Its now 10:46 am and I have not received a phone call nor has he joined the video call. Highly unprofessional and not a good first impression.

I had an appointment with them in December, for which I paid a $15 copay at the time. The mesic assistant/receptionist would not connect me to the provider for a teledoc appointment until i gave them my card information. Today, on April 1 they made an additional charge on my card and no one can explain to me why. I have been back and forth with the billing department and the customer service is awful.How hard is it to tell me why you’re charging my card when I haven’t been seen in your office in months, and if I have been seen, when did I not pay the balance prior the appointment?

I highly recommend this medical practice. Awesome facility and the staff is welcoming. However, Dr. Mauricio Silva and Dr. Dennis Ehrich are top notch.

Terrible practice! Firstly I booked an appointment with the Doctor and instead was seen by an NP. Secondly,I was seen over 4 weeks ago and have yet to receive my blood test and urine analysis results. Honestly very ridiculous I will be taking legal action against this office because there is no way they can get away with either this type of negligence or disregard.

I have always experienced exceptional service at MMA. Harryson is always very helpful processing copays and scheduling. No complaints whatsoever! I’ve been going to this office for a couple years now and have no intentions to stop going here.

No reputable medical practice does that.Because of this major gap in communication, it took 3 WEEKS to get them to transfer my prescription to a new pharmacy. They only took action after I put my foot down and would not let the call center dismiss me off the phone any longer. The delayed action is completely unacceptable, especially when it comes to medication management.Additionally, they would not write me a script until I did an echocardiogram. So I had one done at their office ($65). The follow up CALL (not an in-office visit) to review my echo results and get my script written was $30, but they didn’t have my results ready so no script was sent to a pharmacy. I basically spent $30 for nothing. Another follow up CALL was scheduled for when the results would for sure be in and they wanted another $30 for a call!! Absolutely not. And surprise— the echo results were still not in. At this point the NP just writes a script without the echo results. So the question here is if the echo was even necessary?It’s been 5 weeks since I’ve done my echo and still have not had my result released on my portal. $95 spent for a test that I don’t have the results to and a useless follow up call. (Please advocate for your results to be released in your patient portal and only schedule a follow up visit if there is a value out of range!!! Otherwise no follow up is needed. That is standard practice in the medical community. I only scheduled a follow up because I needed my prescription written.) Never have I had a practice bill me for a phone call or heard of a mandatory follow up (that you will pay for)to review test results that aren’t out of range.Additionally, they’re billing me for a test done during my annual physical when everything done during that visit is covered. And of course I wrote an email to their billing department with, surprise, absolutely no response from them.My experience at this disgrace of a medical practice has been a major inconvenience and the medical director of this practice needs to take notes from the reviews and restructure her practice to provide adequate patient care and not a scam of a medical practice making money off of insurance.PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF FROM THIS NIGHTMARE AND LOOK FOR MEDICAL CARE ELSEWHERE

I had a virtual appointment with NP Thompson and felt so comfortable talking to her about ny issue. She wasnt trying to rush me and was very attentive on trying to understand how to help me. Im more confident in going in office for an appointment considering doctors make me anxious sometimes. The customer service is also great. I saw that some reviews mentioned poor service but that wasnt my experience. I had my questions answered and all my intake forms I filled out online verified. Felt shabby when they required me to come back for just the test results. Waited for more than one hour and told me there is one more patient before me. The staff is unapologetic. Would never come back again.
