Why isn’t there a 0 stars option?? They obviously can’t care any less for people they call for an interview as they had me waiting over an hour, while they ate On The Border in the back. Cannot trust them to care for patients as future potential workers are treated with disrespect. You can fill an application online and they’ll make you fill another one when you get there. They disregard everyone else’s time. Don’t bother coming, you’ll sit waiting for them to finish doing nothing before you’re seen. Fix interview scheduling, don’t schedule during lunch time if this is the case.
Dr. Liz is the best , amazing, understanding, loving person Ive had as a doctor. I came in with all the reasons why my body was acting up. She listens and helps me understand that if I listen to her she would help me get healthy. Its only been 2 weeks since my last appointment and my blood pressure is down and Ive lost 10 pounds. God has blessed me with an Angel. Come see her for a truly loving doctor. Im hooked on this doctors love for her patients.
I am currently 8 months pregnant and under the care of an OB/GYN at Matlock OB/GYN. I was 7 months for my first visit. For over a month, my OB has been trying to refer me to a specialist for further evaluation. However, due to my HMO healthcare plan, this referral requires approval from my primary care provider (PCP). My OB assured me that this process should be straightforward, as it only involves my PCP submitting an approval form to my insurance. When my OB informed me of the need for a specialist, I contacted my insurance, and they assigned me to Optimal Health Clinic, specifically to Liselotte Addea-Amoako, DNP, FNP-C, as my PCP. Unfortunately, my experience with her has been nothing short of frustrating and unprofessional. At my first visit, I clearly explained the reason for my appointment: “I’m here as a formality for insurance purposes. My OB couldn’t obtain imaging of my baby’s right ventricle, so I need your approval to see a specialist for a more detailed sonogram.” Her response? “I don’t know you or your diagnosis.” I clarified that there was no diagnosis yet, which is precisely why I need to see a specialist. Despite my explanation, she insisted, “You must not understand—I can’t do anything until I understand the diagnosis.” Again, I reiterated that I do not have a diagnosis and that all she needed to do was submit the approval form to my insurance. She then stated that she wouldn’t approve anything until she received all documentation from my OB. While I understand the need for documentation, my OB’s office has now faxed the necessary paperwork three times over the past month. Despite this, nothing has been done. I’ve followed up repeatedly, only to be told by her office staff that the “fax specialist” was unavailable and they couldn’t retrieve the faxes—a response that seems utterly ridiculous.Today, in sheer frustration, I personally delivered printed copies of the paperwork from my OB’s office to her clinic. However, the office manager was unavailable due to an emergency. I asked the front desk staff to bring the paperwork directly to Liselotte Addea-Amoako, DNP, FNP-C, while I waited. Even then, she claimed she didn’t know what I was talking about. If she had bothered to review my file, it would align perfectly with the paperwork that has supposedly been received multiple times. This delay has now left me six weeks from my due date, with no appointment scheduled for the specialist, despite my OB identifying this as a priority over a month ago. The lack of communication, inefficiency, and outright rudeness from this clinic are appalling. To add to my concerns, she introduced herself as Dr. Liselotte Addea-Amoako. While she holds a Doctorate in Nursing Practice (DNP), it is important to note that a DNP is not the same as a Doctor of Medicine (MD). A DNP is an advanced practice registered nurse who focuses on clinical practice, leadership, and healthcare improvement, whereas an MD is a medical doctor trained to diagnose and treat medical conditions. While both are valuable in their respective roles, the distinction is significant, particularly when a patient is expecting the level of care typically provided by an MD.Overall, my experience with Liselotte Addea-Amoako, DNP, FNP-C, and this clinic has been one of the most stressful and disappointing healthcare experiences I’ve ever had. Their inability to handle a simple insurance approval, coupled with dismissive attitudes, is unacceptable—especially in a time-sensitive situation like this.
APPLICANTS BEWARE:Ive waited a while to post this review, honestly if I could give this place 0/5 stars I would. Besides the doctor being rude, the staff was amazing and kind to me. I went in for an interview back in September, went great. I started two weeks later (due to leaving my previous job) When I arrived the Doctor didnt say anything to me, she is very rude to her staff and patients.I spent a lot of time apologizing to patients because of her attitude towards them. I hate to play the race card but I was the only white woman there, and I was the first to be let go. Seemed to be wrongful termination due to not getting any sort of warning before termination.
Maybe is was because Im poor looking with not so great shoes and cloths they look at me and treated me like a stunk. The receptionist Alma has a very bad attitude. Try made white fill all paperwork only to get me in the room and wait. Once de doctor showed up she told me we have no medication and signal me the door. They seemed racist to me.
Update 8/29/2024After the provider denied my BP medication refill, I called her and left a request. No response so I called back today only to find out the provider will no longer see me or refill my meds and no explanation was provided. Terrible place that should be closed down.My experience with this office staff and physician were HORRIBLE and I will not return.- First time visit for my annual physical covered with no co-pay on a Monday- Confirmed with my insurance provider prior to the visit to make sure that I would not have any out-of-pocket costs- Office insisted I would have to pay a $75 co-pay for an office visit.- Office insisted that I complete a vitamin D blood test that would cost $240 in addition to lab work which I refused.- Upon checking out, I was again harassed for a $75 copay which I again told them was irrelevant for my annual physical- My annual physical lasted less than 5 min and only checked my breathing.- Did not provide me Rx for my BP and was informed I would get a call with lab results in 2 days- NEVER HAPPENED- When I called for the results I was again harassed about the $75 and told no Rx for my BP until I payed the copay- Never received my lab results and only a note left for the NP to return my call- I called back on Friday and expressed I was taking my last BP pill and that it will increase over the next few days if I run out.- NO CARE. NO CONCERN. NO SOLUTION.- Contacted my insurance company who called the office to and spoke with the nurse who reiterated to the agent that all she can do is leave the “doctor” a note.- She is not a doctor. She is a Nurse Practitioner(NP) - STAFF WILL NOT SHARE SUPERVISING PHYSICIAN INFORMATION WHEN REQUESTED- Prepare to wait on hold for 20 minutes before your call is disconnected(see pic)Read these reviews even from former employees.TERRIBLE:Medical attentionInformationBedside manorStaff courtesyCheck other providers before going here. I WILL NOT RETURN HERE EVER
Dr. Liz is the best doctor I’ve ever been to and I have been to a lot. My daughter loves her as well because she says she takes the time to listen and she not rushed and doesn’t make her feel like she’s just saying stuff. I tell everyone in Illinois where I’m from how good my doctor is and I highly recommend her!!!!’
Dr. Liz is amazing!!! Hands down the best position I have had in years . She is very attentive, ensuring she evaluates all concerns you have. I drive from Frisco to see her, she truly cares about her patients and I will forever be her patient!
I starting going here about 3 months ago no bells and whistles as the saying goes. I was told I had cholesterol so had to get med for that. Was automatically scheduled to go back today. I was never told to fast before a blood test. I have NEVER had to be in ANY meds before so didnt know that. So I was told to go back later today. But on my day off I dont want to make 2 trips that would eat up 3 hours total of my day that I planned Many things to do being Im off work.and they had made an appt for me w/o my knowledge for a mammogram and it was way too far for me to go. And I need to make my own appts when I have time off from work.As of now now that crazy about this place. Feeling may change later.
Optimal Health Clinic is one of the best places to go for your health needs. Dr Liz is very knowledgeable and courteous and a great listener. Staff is very considerate and respectful. Will always recommend Optimal Health Clinic
Love this place🫶🏾 ! The staff and the nurses are amazing very friendly and helpful. Been coming here for a some years now. My mother me and my kids. I would definitely recommend this place, if you are in need of a PCP, Liselotte Addea-Amoako is the Best 👌🏾
I would highly recommend Optimal health Clinic to anyone in need of quality medical care. I am grateful to have found such a dedicated and skilled team of healthcare professionals who truly prioritize the well-being of their patients. Thanks.
I just started coming here and I love it. The thing I despise about coming to the doctor’s office is the lack of inattentiveness and nonchalance that goes into my care because of the kind of insurance I have. I love that they treat you like a regular patient here and do referrals to other forms of care you need that is outside of what they provide (OBGYNS, podiatrists, etc) In other words, I can sit back and not have to worry about scrambling to find any kind of doctor that will accept my insurance. My new go-to. 👍🏻
Ive been seeing this doctor for a few years now. I het the best care. And, their fast too! Great medical practice!
I Love Dr. Liz! She listens and I can always come in when I have a need along with my scheduled appointments. She has been working with me with my BP and she is the only doctor I found that listens to me about how I feel. She gives great advice about what I want and think I need when it comes to supplements and dietary needs. I have grown daughters and I still bring them here because I trust what my doctor says. Everyone can have a bad day at the front desk but if it is rude the doctor will take care of the problem.I love the customer service I receive when I come! Only thing I don’t like are the numbers on the scale lol. But that’s on me. I will continue to follow my doctor no mater where I move or the clinic moves! Thank you from Happy patient Taurin
I love Dr. Liselotte,. She takes keen attention whenever you explain how you feel,. She is passionate when it comes to her patients,.
I give this rating 1 star because I got my hopes up at this clinic. Waiting a hour to just be roomed and 30 minutes or less after being roomed to see the NP . Which is irritating especially if your time is valuable as well as is the PROVIDER which is why you don’t want to be late for your apt or you have a 15 min grace period with coming in late. It’s the opposite there ... I was late at getting roomed and your waiting in the lobby for a long time. I understand during the weekend of it being more busy but a hour waiting is unacceptable for a SCHEDULED appointment. Felt like I was waiting at the ER.This was not a one time situation this has been every time . The doctor was not realistic with things I was wanting . I wasted gas and co pays on medication that I was not approved of twice ! the communication on the front staff end was terrible . Me calling on my behalf to see if things were moving giving them patience to give me a response back. There was no empathy regarding my frustrations. Just a “I can write a doctor a note “ .... I believe this clinic needs more providers to have better satisfaction client wise I’m very disappointed in this clinic .
I have always being scared going to see a doctor. Since I started going to Optimal clinic, Dr. Liz always has the magic of calming me down. I always leave there satisfied and very happy with all her treatments. Shes very professional and receptive too.👍👌
My family loves Dr. Lis. My 17 year old son and my 12 year old daughter feel very comfortable with her. She has an amazing bedside manner and you KNOW that she cares about you.Even better is the fact that her staff is very formal and professional. There seems to be a system in place and it works. I never have to wait to long.
I would like to give 0 starI do have bad cholesterol she never prescribed me any medicine I use to call never reach this doctorDONT TRUST HER PLEASE ALL HER CONCERNS IS MONEY CHARGE YOUR INSURANCE
Dr.Amoako is very professional, knowledgeable and compassionate. She listens to her patients. I feel safe with her care.and I highly recommend her.
Dr. Addea-Amoaka is not a good doctor at all. She puts in your symptoms in google and try to diagnose you. This doctor played with my thyroid for over a year by not putting me on my correct dosage when I first became her patient in 2019. I dont think she is a real doctor. Her physicians license if she has one should be taken away. She is very money hungry and will prescribe you the worst medications with the worst side effects and prescribe you medications you dont need and she will try to over charge your insurance. RUN AWAY FROM HER AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!!!
Very polite staff. They call and send mails to update you on appointment and all other matters concerning your health. Friendly and courteous staff.
I TOLD Dr. Amoako What I had suffered with for 25 years, And The CURE. It is Reactive Arthritis, like Lymes Disease. She Would Not Listen, so I suffered an additional year. My blood was screened at Life Line Screening, Showing Infection (and future risk of stroke if Not Addressed). My Next doctor gave me the antibiotics that I needed, now I am cured. Amoako Took My Blood 10 TIMES, like a vampire witch doctor, never acknowledging the infection that I Told her I had, and never giving me the antibiotic that I needed, even though I told her.
Not thorough at all. The 1st visit was okay the 2nd and 3rd (follow ups) were in and out. I dont recommend this doctor.
Dr Amoako is a very kind individual. She and her staff are very helpful. I currently dont have insurance, yet walked away with an affordable bill. I highly recommend this clinic to anyone.
My doctor, Dr lis is very attentive to my needs and my questions. Staff is professional.
I really like this place . The wait isn’t too long if you pick the right time. All the people there are so nice.
I really enjoyed visiting here. Our communication wasnt the best at the first; however it allowed the Dr. and I to ensure our communication between us were understood from the get go.I like the professiona staff she has and as a veteran patient, I shall continue to visit my new Dr. Here.L. Graves...USAF...(Ret)
Great team and care. Dr is always friendly. Love coming here
Best place to be. I would recommend everyone to visit Optimal Health Clinic and the staff are courteous.
Doctor was nice and great with communication. Liked the environment
Unfortunately there is nothing less than one star. The worst clinic you can go to.
Friendly quick service. I got the meds and steroid shot I needed and the cost was very reasonable. Highly recommend.
Not recommend this place. stuffs are so unfriendly and unprofessionally which means ask something not suppose to ask.
Great Primary Care. Going customer service
I actually rated the place on accident, but since it cant be erased. The staff is very nice.
Great doctor highly recommend
Great practitioner very knowledgeable will always go here first
Not what we expected - front desk staff was surley, and the location needed to be cleaned.
The best health care at affordable cost. With or without insurance.
The doctor was unprofessional and wasted my time.
Friendly and attentive
