Posting regarding my husbands experience-His first appointment they drew blood, we paid nearly $100 for the doctor to spend 5 minutes in the room, say sure we can do this, well call you for your next appointment then rushed out. This clinic constantly had my husbands records and dosages off or had to re-adjust, going up and down on his dosage but only doing a blood draw twice. From my knowledge, you do a blood draw to establish a baseline, you give a dosage and then do another blood draw and continue on that trend until the patient meets the desired testosterone level. However, this is not at all the model they followed, and after two visits, they allowed him to get his testosterone shots delivered to our home (which we thought was wonderful... at first). Except, they never called to schedule follow-up appointments, never called to schedule follow-up blood work, and when my husband called to say that he was disappointed in the service he received, they seemed indifferent and continually charged us for 3 months worth of testosterone shots even though none were delivered and the doctor never checked in with him. When he went to the office to ask about the incident, the front desk receptionist was abrasive and said that wasnt what she dealt with and he would have to contact billing. This clinic is almost negligent with their patients. What sort of doctor would barely visit their patient, not take a medical history, and never follow up with his patient? If youre just looking to get testosterone and you really dont care if things are medically ethical, I say this clinic is right up to your alley.*edited in order to respond to Owners response:This IS your business and billing practice. My husband stopped coming to appointments because of how poorly he was treated and was charged for 3 months straight for injections he never received, no doctor or staff member called to check up on him and weve been attempting to get a refund for over a month at this point. Your business ethics and practices are abysmal.
The facility is unorganized and poorly managed. Went as a new patient. Intitial consult had a blood draw which phlebotomists missed my vein first time and wiggled needle around second time. Affer that they decided to tell me the initial consult visit would be $99. Would you like to proceed? Would that not have been good to discuss prior to drawing blood? Asked to find out what co-pay was and they said they would contact insurance company and call me back. Never happened! Wanted blood draw sent to primary care physician. Sent over paperwork to release info. Have had to call yet again to get this sent.
You will be ripped off. There are much less expensive and better ways to get quality HRT. TL:DR below.First:Ive been an HRT patient for years. Low T Center is by far the worst facility and experience Ive had with HRT. The staff is unfriendly. Even the other patients look sad.The big issue, is they hide the costs. First two visits, they say my insurance covered the visit. Third time in, now I owe a $51 co-pay. No one had said anything about a co-pay at any point. Now, suddenly *after* getting a shot, I owe $51.I think, This must be a mistake. Theyre probably billing me co-pays for all three visits retroactively. Nope. Wrong. The staff member confirms this is for todays visit alone, and I will be charged the same amount each visit. Now, visits are weekly, so were looking at ~$204/month.To give some reference for those new to HRT, my co-pay with the same insurance was $5/visit, and $10/visit respectively at two other facilities I had been a patient at. If you were to buy testosterone from the pharmacy with a doctors script, it would be anywhere $40 - $100. A single 10mL bottle would last 10 weeks.Second: The staff sound half asleep on the phone, and are no better in person. Front desk girl was eating Taco Bell at her desk both times I came in the Georgetown location. She also didnt give me my drivers license back after the first visit, and I had to go back to get it. Of course that mistake is on me as well. The PA was actually fine. Comprehensive, but wanted to start me at a dose of 160mg/week when my previous clinic had me at 285mg/week, which had put my levels at ~700-800ng/dl. He finally agreed to a 200mg start after some prodding.Third:After objecting to a $51 fee for a single 10 minute visit, the girls at the front desk gave me an attitude and said At this point your only option is to pay. Thats when I walked out the door. Now, since Im a consultant, I guess Ill bill them my usual fee for writing this review. Youre welcome, you owe me $500.*************************************************************************TLDR: *** Go see you primary care doc, get a prescription for testosterone, and do your own shots. ***
Writing on behalf of my husband-- very poorly managed clinic. First appointment was told that they didnt have record of said appointment, and that they couldnt find any of the information that he had filled out online. $99 dollar appointment fee--was told that they would check for insurance. They never followed up on that. Then, he showed up for the appointment that they had made for today, and once again they couldnt find his appointment that he had made last week when he left his initial appointment. He had made todays appointment--in the office--with them. Waited for 25 minutes, and put back in room, only to be told by the PA that our insurance required an appointment before 10 am. What?!? I have never heard of this, and if they found something out about this, why was he not contacted in advance and rescheduled? Also, never given the results of his blood work. He walked out after they told him he needed another appointment to talk to them. He was told that the $99 covered the follow-up appointment and blood draw, so insurance should not have mattered, anyway. VERY POORLY RUN. I would hesitate to give personal information out to an institution that cant schedule something as simple as a follow-up appointment. This just feels like a scam. Would give zero stars if it were possible. Caveat emptor!!
If you have been seen at this clinic, please go get tested for COVID19. ALLEGEDLY a staff member has a significant other who has tested positive for COVID19, thus putting all other employees and customers at risk. Call this clinic and demand answers. This is unacceptable and is not OK
Most people fuss because they dont check their insurance before coming in. Its a facility with real doctors and they do a great job of monitoring your health and levels of testosterone among other things. The staff are great. Easy, clean, friendly.
