Before discovering Innovations in Health I struggled with weight loss. Since hitting menopause I had put on a good 40 pounds. I tried everything….over-the-counter pills, popular diets (none of which were realistic to stay on) and even prescribed oral medications for weight loss, and nothing worked. Now, thanks to Dr. Shoemaker and his amazing staff, I am down from 179 to 137 in a span of about 6 months. They’re extremely informative, made the process easy and convenient for my work schedule (which was a must) and I feel GREAT! Highly recommend.

I am a patient of Dr. Shoemaker ( Diana ) I can honestly say that it’s thanks to him that I’m feeling so much better after my oophorectomy. He currently manages my menopause symptoms. He takes the time to really listen , order adequate labs , choose the best treatment and follow up as needed to see how I am feeling. Can’t thank him enough ! Highly recommended!

I just recently had their IV Hydration therapy called the ultimate myers cocktail. It was absolutely amazing! Because of my autoimmune disease and other health issues that I suffer from I tend to have very low energy, dehydration, dry skin, brittle hair, joint pain……you name it I suffer from it! Lol……This IV Treatment made me feel so much better! I could tell a difference almost immediately! Especially with the low energy! I had been meaning to write this review for the past 3 weeks and finally remembered to. I went in 3 weeks ago beyond nervous for my 1st prenatal visit (this is my first pregnancy). Let me just say that I am so thankful I found Dr. Shoemaker! He was very thorough while explaining things to me and very easy to talk to. His calming demeanor made me feel very comfortable throughout my entire appointment. The ultrasound tech (cannot remember his name) was also very kind and made sure I was comfortable. Also, Brianna was very friendly and very good at her job! She treated me with nothing but kindness and made me feel so comfortable around her as well. I can’t forget the front office ladies, they are very helpful and are awesome at their job! All in all I had a GREAT experience and looking forward to my next visit in 2 weeks. Thank you Dr. Shoemaker and staff, it is very much appreciated by this first time momma!

I have been seeing Dr. Shoemaker since 2009. He has delivered both of my boys. When I had my last son in 2013 he came in on his day off to deliver him. In 2018 I started having a lot of pain and UTIs. I had been referred by my primary doctor to an urologist who just handed me a paper and told me to avoid these lists of things. I went in for my annual and told Dr. Shoemaker what had been going on. He told me what I was suffering from was endometriosis. He recommended a hysterectomy which has been the best decision I have ever made. He is an amazing doctor who truly cares about his patients!

Dr. Shoemaker is my current ob for my pregnancy. He is an amazing doctor and has been amazing through this process. BUT! his administrative staff is absolutely the worst! I have been seeing Dr. Shoemaker since February and every appointment has me rattled up. My pregnancy has been amazing and wonderful ,it’s sad to say that my stress comes from visiting the doctors office. An experience that should be exciting is one I dread. If you plan on coming here expect a wait time of 1 1/3 hour or more. My longest wait time has been 3 hours. And during the 3 hour wait they forgot to do my glucose test and I had to wait even longer, mind you I had not eaten . I spend my whole morning at the doctors office. I am a self pay patient paying more then $2,000. (Insurance deductible is $7,000) And each appointment requires me to miss work, needless to say my time is my money and to be waiting for more than an hour to be seen for 5 minutes is surely not making me happy. I understand there is wait time no matter what office you chose to go to but the forgetfulness of Dr. Shoemakers staff is unacceptable. Did I mention the time the staff called to reschedule my appointment because they set me for a day the doctor was not in and then when that day came around they told me if I didn’t show up for my appointment in the next few minutes they would stop seeing me as a patient? Horrible!

I had a partial hysterectomy in March of this year (2016). My experience with Dr. Shoemaker and his staff has been impeccable. The entire surgery process from administration, to financial to scheduling and actual surgery truly excelled my expectations. I held loosely to Shoes words when he said you wont even feel like you had surgery! Well, I can honestly say he was right, I did not feel like I had surgery. The entire process was pain free and healing was surprisingly fast! I felt ready to return to work 4 days later, however, of course I didnt. :) The procedure is highly advanced and his team in office as well as surgical were awesome!! If you have any obstetric or gynecological needs, Stans the man!!!

Ive never had more confidence in a physician in all my life. Dr. Shoemaker has a wonderful disposition and bedside manner - and more years of experience than I am years old! I had a repeat c-section and hernia repair. Three nurses remarked on how well his incisions heal and how lucky I was to have him. Wait times are long in the office, but to be honest, I would have waited as long as necessary to see him. Highly recommend!ETA:I am now nine months postpartum. Before my c-section, I had both diastasis recti and an umbilical hernia (from previous surgeries). Dr. Shoemaker repaired both during my cesarean. He advised me that he is not a plastic surgeon and help me to maintain appropriate expectations.Well! My stomach has not looked THIS good since my twenties! Ive been going to the beach in a BIKINI all spring long.Many thanks, Dr. Shoemaker!!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

Update on Dr. ShoemakerI had previously written a bad review because I interrupted what he was trying to tell me the wrong way. I now realize he was trying to do what was best for me. He has always been great to me as a patient. Ive heard nothing but good things about him...specifically that he is the best... and hope he will take me back as a patient. I know he is always up to date on the latest and greatest innovations. I hope he can understand that I was scared of surgery back when my fibroid was 9 cm but I didnt realize if I let it go for too long I might have to have abdominal surgery. Im hoping he can understand our fears and questions as women. I do sincerely apologize for the awful previous review and hope to schedule an appointment with him soon!

I’ve only IV therapy done once, but I did feel a difference almost immediately…….especially with the fatigue!!! Highly recommend! Definitely going back real soon!

I have been going to see Dr. Shoemaker for over 1 year and really like him.I do not have insurance so I always have to pay before I see him. I have had 2 pellet treatments which are very expensive but it is worth it. However, after a year of being a patient, they have sent me a bill for $30 for my first appointment, which I paid for a year ago. I talked to the staff and told them I was not going to pay something I already paid for. I have had nothing but problems with all of the office help from the beginning. They do not listen to anything you say. They still insist that I have to pay. They I told them just cancel my next visit if you expect me to pay the $30 dollars. She said fine I will cancel your next appointment. Typical response from his office staff. Good luck Dr. Shoemaker, sorry it ended this way.

Dr. Shoemaker is one in a few caring physicians that really addresses patients needs. He has the most caring bedside manner I have come across. He has had new staff come in and Jessica and Shiryl have been ever so helpful with me! Recently, also Breanah, his medical assistant who was such a doll with me on my situation. She kindly opened the door for me, on a late Friday afternoon, after the office had already closed and helped me as best of possible. I most definitively recommend Dr. Shoemaker. Do not let the fact that he is a male provider... he is very caring and thorough with his patients! We do not see that a lot in Corpus! Thank you Dr. Shoemaker and his staff for all that you do for your patients!

Today we had my daughters first OB appointment with Dr. Shoemaker. His staff was the sweetest and most helpful from the very first phone call. His calming demeanor and warm smile made her feel very comfortable as a first time mommy (and for myself as a first time grandma) Thank you Dr. Shoemaker and staff for a wonderful experience. My story is long but I will make it short. I have struggled with infertility the last 4 years and have had 4 MC. I have always had painful periods with excruciating cramps 3 weeks out of every month for the last 15 years or so. When I met Dr. Shoemaker he discovered a huge Mass/Fibroid about 10/11 cm with his bare hands over my belly while I was pregnant with my 4th whom I miscarried a few months ago. He recommended I have the fibroid removed in which he operated a few months later by Myomectomy. That was the Best thing I ever did in my life! I am pain free, no more horrific cramps, hip pains, no more paralyzing pain. My surgery went very well and I recovered in no time with an excellent beautiful scar! Now me and my husband are excited to try again in hopes and prayer for another opportunity. Thank you so much Dr. Shoemaker! We love you so much!

Was referred to by my Dr who no longer does surgery. My bladder was completely out for months. Miserable. Went in and Dr. Shoemaker explained everything to where I understood. Im 68 yrs old. He showed me on charts about everything. Suggested a laperscopic total hysterectomy first since everything was no good. Said I might not need bladder surgery. Had surgery. Everythings good. Healed great. Dont need another surgery. Very knowledgeable. I have 5 kids. Would have loved for him to have been my Dr. Back then. Highly recommend. Thanks to him and his staff.

Dr.Shoemaker is the best OGYN you could ever need! He cares about each patient. He is respected for his knowledable experience in Womans Health! He has a courteous,friendly, warm personality and a great smile! He has a great and friendly staff! I have been with him 34 years! I would highly recommend him! 10 stars

Went in for IV therapy and was impressed . Went a 2nd time and and tried the performance plus package a could feel huge difference. Feel more active though the day. Looking forward for the next session.

Save yourself the trouble and find an OBGYN with better staff. Dr. Shoemaker is a nice doctor with great bedside manner, but his staff...ugh. For almost a year now I have been harassed to pay for an office visit that was falsified by their billing department. I saw Dr. Shoemaker on 8-30-18, I paid a co-pay for that visit and my insurance paid the rest, their portion was $475. Now their office keeps trying to get me to pay $362 for a visit with a date of service of 9-25-18, which is made up because I didn’t see them since August. They filed a claim with my insurance company trying to get paid for it but I had told them that policy would expire the end of August. So of course, insurance isn’t going to pay it. I have spoken to the billing department several times and each time they say they will look it over and get back to me, which they never do. They just keep sending me a link to go to my statement and the statement reads “Bill is seriously past due, please contact office.” So I contact office and it happens all over again. I’m getting so tired of this, if I am told to pay this fraudulent bill one more time, I will be reporting them for insurance fraud and also involving my lawyer.I specifically remember 8-30-18 being my last appointment because I waited for 2 hrs 45 min to be seen, when I asked the staff what the hold up was, they said they lost my patient file. The lack of organization was too stressful for me, I ended up switching doctors.Edit to add: his office contacted me after this review to tell me they actually owed me money and would send the check in the mail. I never received it.

I would like to make an update and apologize to Dr. Shoemaker.I began taking Depo Provera 6 months after surgery. My pain began to subside, it did not fully go away. I am OK with that. I did not know that I needed to get on birth control to keep the endometriosis from coming back. This, I learned from trial and error. I recently stopped taking Depo and the pain has come back full force. Hopefully, other women going through endometriosis find this helpful and really talk to their doctors about what to expect.He is a good doctor I was just upset with still having pain after 6 years. I am only leaving 3 stars because I wish I had known that I needed to be on a birth control to keep the pain at bay.Went to this doctor because he had good reviews and his father was a doctor. I told him about pain I was having and he said it may be due to psychological reasons. I am not easily offended but, the way he said it seemed as if he was implying I might be trying to get pain medicine. He said he wanted to do a laparoscopy for endometriosis even though at one point he said it did not sound like endo. I had the surgery anyways because the pain has put a damper on daily activities. I still have pain, even after the surgery. I told him about it and he said he would have to take out my left ovary. Will never go back. I am pretty sure he knew it is not endometriosis but, could be nerve damage. He never suggested I go to a neurologist or pain management doctor before wasting tons of money on surgery.

Dr. Shoemaker diagnosed me with a skin disease I didnt know I had. All l knew wasI was very sore and miserable He has been treating me ever since andI feel a lot better. He has my confidence. He is an excellent doctor He is the only doctor I go to where I dont have to wait more than a few minutes.

He is a really great Dr!! Had a hysterectomy done nd change my whole life!! I appreciate everything he has done for me!! His staff is very friendly as well!! He really wants the best for his patients and I recommend him to anyone looking for a great obgyn!!

I had one appointment a few months ago and he was amazing. I was super comfortable and finally got some answers I was looking for through literally multiple gynos. But now I have to go back and for a week now I have not been able to get anyone to answer at the office. Phone or email. I dont want to go to another doctor. But. Other then this week all the staff were amazing to me!

Had a 3:00 appointment today. Got the at about 2:48. At about 3:10 my wife asked and was told there was someone with the tech and she was next. At 3:40 they told my wife the tech wasnt there and when he arrived there were 2 people ahead of my wife. So we left and wont be back.

DR. SHOEMAKER IS A AWESOME DOCTOR...HE DELIVERED MY BBYS....THIS GUY IS AWESOME AND VERY GOOD AT WHAT HE DOES.......THE ONLY THINK I REGRET IS GETTING ESSURE DONE THERE, AFTER TYING MY TUBES WAS REJECTED...BECAUSE IM UNDER 35... I HAVE 6 CHILDREN...NEEDLESS TO SAY IM STUCK WITH ESSURE AND IM ALLERGIC TO IT... AND I HAVE NO MEDICAID TO REMOVE IT... SO HES A GOOD DOCTOR(BEST DOCTOR)...JUST LOOK INTO ESSURE BEFORE GETTING IT!!!

Im always nervous to see new doctors but Dr. Shoemaker and his staff helped ease my nerves. I was seen fast and the doctor explained everything to me.

Very rude receptionist not helpful you don’t deny any pregnancy no matter at how far you are along. This is very unfortunate due to me trying to switch doctors. Very sad disappointing due to them failing as helping me trying to birth my son. 😢🥺😔

I call to make an appointment.. they ask for my name and put me on hold for 30 minutes, then tell me the name again and ask if I can be put on hold.. like I thought I was already doing that. No thanks.
